Well, that seems to be a development of this game.
As you might have figured out, M leads to a stronger attack the next round. It can be placed in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, or 5th slot in the order of battle. Generally it goes first or second, because you want to maneuver your strongest weapon.
This game, people have all been using Mxx instead of xMx to start. A mismatch of xMx and Mxx can lead to catastrophic losses on both sides. People seem to be avoiding this situation. It's an interesting equilibrium that's been reached.
Mxx vs xMx, large casualties on both sides
Mxx vs Mxx, total victory/total defeat
xMx vs xMx, total victory/total defeat
I think when Mxx became the norm this game, people decided to use it almost exclusively. They'd rather play for total defeat or victory than try to inflict the most casualties possible. xMx could have become the equilibrium too, but it seems Mxx reached a tipping point this game.

Round 16
An Intriguing Plot Twist
Chaunk and Skanky Burns sent each other a spy. The spies cancelled, allowing the actions of the round to go ahead unimpeded. Chaunk's fleet captured Kassiopeia's undefended bases, while the allied fleets of Skanky and Kassi destroyed the three frigates Chaunk had left behind, taking only 1 hit point of damage in the process. As per the orders agreed upon by the allies, Skanky Burns took control of all of the captured bases, leaving Kassi homeless.
Chaunk loses 5 bases, but captures 23.
Kassiopeia loses 23 bases.
Skanky Burns gains 5 bases.
The next round promises to be just as intriguing.~ If Tehben spits eggs at you, jump on them and throw them back. ~ Eventis ~ Eventis Dungeons & Dragons 6th Age Campaign: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4: (Unspeakable) Horror on the Hill ~

Hmmm...I always thought that BP went with bases and were lost if you lost all your bases (Not just your home base).
The rules are not clear on this though....yes I'm bored and waiting for the next game. We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

Here's the relevant section of the rules:
# It is possible for a player to send out a fleet and have it run into a shield or lose the battle, while his home bases are simultaneously captured. Such fleet then remains baseless.
# A player with no bases at the beginning of a round must capture at least one base that round or be eliminated.
# Overlords with no bases lose their stockpiled shields. Spies are retained.
# It is possible to use a spy on an player with no bases.~ If Tehben spits eggs at you, jump on them and throw them back. ~ Eventis ~ Eventis Dungeons & Dragons 6th Age Campaign: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4: (Unspeakable) Horror on the Hill ~

I have to say though, it requires some serious talent in selfpwning to go out in third place with more than half the galactic fleet. Chaunk will probably win, and I congratulate him for his comeback.Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!
