  • List of games you regret buying

Use whatever standards you please. For me it's time playing the game. If it isn't at least 20 hours, then it's total waste.

I'll start from the beginning (not including any C64 games- very few of which I actually bought ). I had some NBA game, it was around 95 or so. I also bought a Nascar game around that time. I quickly learned sports games became boring rather fast. Though I did get about 20 hours or so out of one of the Madden NFL games. But not much more than that.

Civ2: Test of Time. I just didn't care for the graphics, it didn't seem to add much to gameplay either.
Civ3: PTW- broken expansion pack. 'nuff said.
Command and Conquer- I don't like RTS games- though I did end up buying another one...
Syndicate Wars- it was fun for a little while, but then I got stuck and couldn't get past a mission.
Star Wars Rebellion- another RTS I didn't like. horrible interface
Flight Simulator- 98 I believe. I grew bored of it rather quickly.
Sim golf- what was I thinking?
Black and White- yet another crappy RTS
Call to Power 2: I tried several attempts. Including AOM mod
Doom3- grew bored of that one too quickly. I just couldn't find any desire to finish.

last but not least. Everquest 2 and World of Warcraft. What's the point of levelling my character again?

    Civ3
    Civ3PTW
    Civ3Conquests
    Call To Power
    CTP2
    Tropico
    Monopoly Tycoon
    Tom Clancy's Rainbox 6
    Battlefield: Vietnam
    THE SIMS (WORST PURCHASE EVER)
    Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon
    Delta Force Land Warrior
    Tribes 2
Delta Force Black Hawk Down (good game, but they never updated it enough, and eventually, they gave up on it)
    Diablo
Diablo 2 (not bad games, but looking back, not worth paying for)
    Global Ops
To us, it is the BEAST.

and if anyone wants those games, they are welcome to them. . Some of the older ones I know longer have the box to, but I have most of the discs.

        Civ3
Europa Universalis 2 (it was ok, but like EU1, it didn't move me).

There are more, but I can't remember them now.

Civ3PTW. Dunno why I bought it, but the expansion was what made me put Civ3 down for good. Civ3 itself I don't regret, at least I played it enough.

I almost always buy stuff I'm sure I want, though.

Wizards and Warriors (or similar - by the guy who did Wizardry). Sooo buggy and unsupported.

Locomotion. Almost there but too frustrating

                  Civ3

                  Railroad Tycoon3

Silent Storm for a long time as it wouldn't run until the 3rd PC i tried it on.

Star Wars Rebellion - I so wanted to like this if only because it reminded me of Freedom in the Galaxy boardgame.

Lords of Midnight PCversion. disappointing compared to the Spectrum.

Age of Empire and any other RTS - i'm just no good at these types of games.

                    Majestic
XCOM3 (not really a bad game, but not worth the money)
                    Railroad Tycoon 2
                    Tropico
                    Lords of the Realm 2

There are many more I can't remember now.

                      Hmm.....

Over the last 25 years I've played about 1000 computer games.

I'd estimate that only about 200 of those provided more than 20 hours of play.

I'd say there were 20-30 that we bought or gifted that were never even opened.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

Ha! I just finished a two hour session of RTW (admittedly with some very heavy modding - I can't even begin to play vanilla).

Good game once properly modded though.

Which is an underlying theme that seems to bring a belch of B!@tche$ from the masses that we the consumer have to finish a product we purchse

Black and White makes it high on this list... never did buy PTW (Sir Ralph, you may be the only person who ever actually liked that expansion)... NBA Live 2004, god I hate EA basketball games ...
