Chapter 3 : Revenge of the Nerds
That night the survivors all gathered around the fire. After the horrifying crash and now two horrendous murders, they trusted no one and lived in total fear.
Rah stood up and addressed the survivors.
"Guys, we are stranded here on this island, with no known time frame for a rescue. We are going to have to do something about this murder situation ourselves."
"Who made you chief?" interupted Jonny.
"Yeah, did we have an election and i missed it " jibed Tuberski
Much banter continued till Rah spoke again.
"I am not your chief, nor do i wish to be, I am just stating the obvious. if we do nothing about the murders , we may be the next victim."
This hushed the crowd and so Rah continued.
"Where i come from, we played a game called Mafia, some one is chosen as a murderer and after he murders someone the survivors get together and vote who they suspect is the mafia, once the votes are in, the Guilty is then removed"
"Removed?" questioned Brobeo
"Yes, the survivors take whatever action is necessary to remove the killer" answered Rah.
"You mean Kill the Killer?" queried Skanky
"Yes" repeated Rah
"Doesnt that make the survivors as bad as the killers?" asked Paddy, whilst swigging at some Scotch he had recovered from the plane.
"Well it is a matter of survival" stated Rah.
Again much debate ensued till finally they decided they would investigate the murders by questioning each other.
After a number of hours of questioning and relaying t oeach other the clues found at the murder scenes. The survivors decided that a vote should be taken as per Rah's suggestion.
So each survivor was given a rock and they all sat in a circle around the fire. Then one by one, each survivor stood up and dropped the rock behind the one they suspected.
After all had voted, they turned to look behind themselves.
"No way, you guys are wrong" yelled Chaunk jumping to his feet after seeing the great pile of rockes behind him.
"I didnt do it" he exclaimed as he backed up closer to the fire. "I was with some one nearly all day, i was never alone"
The survivors started surrounding him and closing in on him and Chaunk continued to walk backwards closer to the fire. As the survivors closed the circle around him, Chaunk tripped and fell into the fire, no one helped him out. His screams were loud and long, but soon it was all over.
The survivors felt a little releived to have removed the guilty. That night they slept much better than the first night.
The following morning Tuberski woke up to see the bed next to his empty. He had slept next to Rah after deciding the older man might be good for company. Tuberski looked round the group of survivors and counted the beds, all were filled except Rah's.
"Wake up everyone" Tuberski yelled.
Slowly everyone awoke and heard the tale of the missing Rah.
Hoping that he had only gone for an earl ymorning walk, the survivors headed out in groups of two and three to search.
Unfortunatley the group of Joncha, Whoha and Adagio found Rah's body about two miles down the beach. His body had been covered with burnt wreckage from the plane.
