I recommend SE4 (playing it now, its easy to mod). SE5 should be out shortly.

Vince278 yeah I liked it. Remember the time frame. It had the best graphics and by far the best sounds. It was the first space game I know of that allowed upgrading ships.

The first time I blew away alien ships, I was hooked. Yeah it was very lame for strategy. Yes it had too much micromanaging. Probably most would not like it now, but it got very good marks at the time.

But nothing else was around at that time, except an already old Moo1 (which I still play).

Yeah, ditto to VMXA1 on that one. Sweet graphics and sound. But then after a few weeks...ugh. micromanagement for no good and the ai...weak!
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

I did like the 3D graphics and combat.
