ESPN teamed with ABC: Superbowl XLII

Dan Patrick here, from the Superbowl in Phoenix, Arizona.

It's been a bitter game, with now ten players dead. On a close vote, Lance Briggs fell to the coin toss, the worst coin toss since Jerome Bettis ... and yet, the killer was still on the loose, as Lance was innocent.

We managed to make it almost to halftime with no more deaths ...

... but just before the half, our killer, or killers, struck again.

The Bears were up, 24-3, with 32 seconds left in the half, when Matt Murphy caught an 80 yard pass for a touchdown, running past the Bears' depleted secondary and taking advantage of a safety blitz that was quickly picked up.

After the excitement of the touchdown, which brought the game to 24-10, the fans were shocked to see yet another player hanging from the goalposts, with a lasso around his neck... Mike Brown, whose safety blitz had failed just earlier that play, paid the ultimate price.

Looking in his pockets, they found a list ... a list of several dead players, each strangled, with teammate Adewale Ogunleye next up.

The players decided to spend halftime considering what had happened, asking Outkast and the Black-Eyed Peas to postpone their show in memory of the slain players.
