Short answer: No. It's just not economically feasible anymore; that's why those muther****ers at LucasArts axed Sam & Max last year.

I'm looking forward to the episodic Sam & Max games that supposedly will be coming out in the months to come, and of course TLJ2, but we will never again see Manny Calavera, or Gabriel Knight, or Roger Wilco, or The Hero, or Guybrush Threepwood.

I like your optimism. However, it doesn't seem based on much.

          yeah, sorry,

Well I have noticed over the years, the huge number of programmers, graphic artists and sound engineers there are out there, all combining, building programs that allow you to build your own games, with every passing year it gets easier and more populated. Already there are games made by fans that are worthy to sell on the market.

So it's not hard to imagine, in another 5 years or so, "homemade games" will become very popular on the market.

Infact, it makes sense to me, you will have your "homemade games" and your "takes 10 years to make games".

One is a good filler, the other is a great evolution.

We can but hope. I'll believe it when I see it though.

Well for those that have been lucky enough to play the Space Rangers games(info from mobygames: http://www.mobygames.com/game/window...s-2-dominators ), i think we have one way in which they can make a return.

From listening to fans of the game talk - the text adventure sections(mini-games within the game) were a novel and fun way of enriching the gaming experience! nice move i suspect - but wont know for sure untill i can find this game to buy

So i look on it that 'traditional' adventure games(not of the newer 3D variety) can still make a comeback - but probably only in a cameo role as shown in Space Rangers.
