Hmmm, one of my colonies is about to be hit by a fleet of 167 cruisers/BShips in 30 minutes. Fortunately, I've managed to get a lot of my stuff off the planet, but they're still going to take about 30,000 crystal and 10k deut. :/

And an 89-field planet is still useful; you can fit in three level-20 mines AND all the solar plants you need to power them, AND a level 2 shipyard. That's what I'm doing with one of my colonies, which also happens to be 89 fields.

just my thoughts on my 89 fielded colonies.i have a 160 also,which im using as my second HQ city

I've made about 20 colonies so far and have only had one above 200 (232).

Aside from my first colony (a size-46, can't really do much with that), I've kept all of the colonies I've built thus far. However, one of my colonies is a size-53; that'll get abandoned eventually, maybe six weeks from now. At present, I'm planning on just building up to the maximum it can support (15/15/5, solar 16) and just having it ship stuff back to the homeworld. Won't be a whole lot, but it'll help.

My other colonies, in increasing order of size: 89, 96, 114, 152, 180, 193, 235. All these, I'm planning on keeping for a long time. The sub-100 planets will get abandoned eventually, but I'm going to build them up to the maximum they can support and have them run at maximum capacity for a few months before I scrap them. The size-114 I'm keeping for sentimental reasons, as it's the first colony that I didn't abandon immediately upon landfall.

Oddly, in all my time on this game, I have only been scanned once - at one of my colonies - and never attacked. It's a vast wasteland out here, with more inactives than actives.

You know it's tempting to take that poor guy in, but from the other side
- he's no apolytoner
- he probably just wants to get our internal data and then pop back into B.O.F or someone.

EDIT: btw I bashed him 3 times today and not even at HQ..
