It's not so much speed as speed with accuracy. With my teflon feet and glass mat the mouse moves pretty fast, as you'd imagine, which means mouse sensitivity can't be set too high. One should set the threshold at at the highest sensitivity where you can still use the low damage repeatable instant hitscan or almost instant hitscan weapons (these usually exist, depends on game) and keep them on the opposition whilst they are dodging.

That's part of the coolness of this mouse ... through the software you can set what DPI you want the 5 levels to be (it ships w/3 set as default, but you can add 2 more, plus change the defaults) ... and even hot-swap them, since i imagine different weapons require different accuracies<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

Over here, we say "Logitech, altijd pech", which translates into "Logitech, always bad luck".
I've owned two pieces of Logitech equipment (a mouse and a gamepad), and both have gone kaputt within six months
The Microsoft mouse I got to replace it is still going strong after five years
I promised myself not to buy anything again from a brand with "tech" in its name.

Most gosus in RTS dont trust Wireless. DrS might know more than me on this... but Im pretty sure on this.
I have a pretty standard optical mouse. and a clean standard mouse pad and its fine most of the time.
Frankly I prefer the old mouse with ballz. You just have to maintain them often. Theres nothing cooler and geekier than doing maintenance on your mouse before a FPS/RTS match...:-p

For online play I know some people who use wireless now. The technology has progressed a long way from when it was introduced, and was rightly considered too flaky.
However I don't under your ball mouse fetish. I find them less accurate (even when clean) than a good optical setup, and have been using an optical mouse for about 5 years.
