    Spiff, try not to use your fusion plants, they take way too much Deut. Use Solar Sats instead and keep your fusion plants as backup in case your sats are destroyed in an attack.

    • Attached, I have the current stats for my uni8 planet, Trebizond. (yes, I've renamed it since my last post here. ) In addition, I have a level 2 factory and a level 2 lab. Yes, yes, I'm impatient to build those things, I know.

      Anyway, my build plans for the near future basically involve boosting crystal production relative to metal production. Between my next power plant upgrade and the one after that, I'll have brought my crystal and metal mines to equal levels; after that, I'm going to keep building them at a 2:1 or 3:2 crystal/metal ratio for a while, throwing in the odd Deuterium plant (whenever it'll leave me with less of a power deficit than building one of the other two), until I'm at Crystal 16 or thereabouts. Then I'm obviously going to have to boost up Dt production.

      As for tech, I don't plan on making any lab upgrades anytime soon, of course, at least not until my deuterium production gets built up to respectable levels.

      • Another question.......

        You need additional computer technology to add fleet slots if I understand correctly.

        Does that mean you start with 1 fleet slot and that fleet can be as large as you want it without adding computer technology? (and that you only have to research the computer tech to add a second and more fleets....of whatever size they may be) Or do you need to add additional computer techs to expand the size of you fleet?

        • You have one fleet slot and it can be as large as you want (afaik, I've not run into a limit yet). Once you send you fleet out though, you won't be able to use another fleet for several hours until it comes back. No scanning other players, no transporting goods between colonies, no raiding, no stealing debris fields...

            I was trying to plan on getting ships tomorrow and working out the calculations so that I didn't need to stay up until 2:00 a.m. but this should help to change my calcs (regardless of what is onboard ).

                      Seems strange, in uni 3 they are soooo many cash cows to raid with plenty of everything.

                      In uni 8 however, different story.

                      Me thinks that there are way more active players in uni 8.

                      Are there any stats on players per uni?

                      • I've no idea, but I know that the inactives of uni8 are being deleted. Two of my bigger cash cows were deleted sometime last night. I'm running out of them.

                        • The "overview" screen tells me that I am "7311 out of 9476".

                          This suggests that there are 9476 players, I assume in Universe 8? Does this make sense?

                          Edit: though I realize you are looking for "active" players, so I am not sure knowing how many players helps any. Seeing as I am ahead of 2000 of them after only 2 days means perhaps there are at least 2000 inactive? (or that many have registered since I did
