I think you'd have to go back to the apes back in Africa, really, Finns descend from people who immigrated from the depths of what is nowadays Russia. Most of the Germanic tribes came out of the steppes, though, like the Huns and whatnot, no? The Finns perhaps later than most, but I rather thought almost all of France/Germany/Scandinavia (Northern Europe) came from the same general area/ethnic background... as opposed to Roman/Greek heritage, which is very different (Phoenician, from what I recall, is the common heritage there)...
