  • My first was Zak Mckracken. Then Monkey Island.

So you can see why I am hooked on Adventures.

Nothing thus far has surpassed the greatness of Monkey Island.

And it strikes me as odd that Lucasarts has not created a Star Wars adventure game.. (not that I am into Star Wars..)

I had the same trouble with TLJ over the last week. However I solved that problem by enabling subtitles and just ending the dialog when I finished reading. I read very quickly, so that cut out a lot of time.

I loved the long dialogs, it made it feel like it was real, everything had a story... and for those who didn't care about the story, they could just skip them

          • Hmmm... just had a look at an old preview of it on Gamespy (from E3 2004)

A little quote from the article:

One interesting element was that the [water] wheel made almost musical sounds when Zoe turned it. When I pointed that out to Tormquist, he replied that yes, many of the puzzles in this area are musically based

This game sure has changed a lot since then... The "many" was changed to "one"... and the water wheel didn't make any musical sounds when it was turned

            • I heard music when I turned the control wheel: 4 notes in sequence, and I had to use the symbols just afterwards to duplicate those 4 notes in order to open the portal. There was another later that played music, but it wasn't integral to the process of opening the door in question.

              • I bought the game yesterday (what a ripoff! 25 Euro ) and of course, I finished it in 2 days. I didn't like the ending (BLARGH) and the whole Silent Hill- atmosphere (I abhorred the whole sneaking-around-hotel-packed-with-drug-addicts- noise-will-kill-you-thing)

Now, if they don't release the 3rd episode, Tsunamis should hit Norway
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

Goths are people too you know

Oh and being an anti-G8 demostrator is kinda cool - the problem i have with its use in a game is it might trivialise the political message?

I've enjoyed The Longest Journey over xmas/new year, so will probably be getting this soon, bad ending none withstanding.
