What about all the mass-carnage in all the dozens of war game FPS's? Head-shots with blood and rag-doll physics, dismembered bodies?
I gather the 'sex' in this GTA Mod, while not graphicaly explicit, did it in a vulgar style? I wouldn't have a problem with a game dealing with sex if it was tastefully done(think of the children etc). But pimp style is a bit much for a minor?

Still all the excesive graphic violence must be next on the list of the lobyists? Especialy as we approach photo-realism with next gen consoles? Do i really need to see the bones and organs sticking out a person i've just chain-gunned to death?
    (think of the children again)

I find it is food for thought atleast, and am more concerned on the violence rather than an obscure sex-mod.
Still what can the rateings do when a recent survey has shown that parents still pay little attention to game rateings(they had an article in this months Games TM magazine http://www.gamestm.co.uk/pm/2 - not a link to the article as its in the printed form only).

With the next-gen consoles i expect we will see many more actions by lobyist groups on these issues, for better or worse.

So developers might end up with a large printed message across the wall of their design room, with the simple message - "Think of the children" or not

GTA-SA will sell even more copies now off course.

Since the english version isn't sold in German speaking areas, it becomes more convenient to pirate than to buy.

        An article from BBC:

What's the legal age in the US to have sex? In Sweden it's 15 years... I suppose it's older than that in the US, perhaps 18? Or is it up to every state to decide?

But that's their problem. Not selling an english version of the game (any game) in every country they sell the game is only making it worse for themself. There's several games that I would have bought if they sold a non-localized version of the game where I live, so because of that mistake they're making less money

Of course these days it doesn't make any difference for me anymore since I'm just going to buy the games online instead, but not everybody has that option

Not to mention that localizing games takes time and often too long. Not having a world-wide release date makes people more likely to pirate instead of buying
This space is empty... or is it?

I don't think there is a legal age to have sex. You can have sex as young as you want. As long as you are around the same age of course. You can't have anyone older than 18 having sex with anyone under 18 (even if their birthdays are 1 month apart )

Actually yes you can, depending on your state's laws.

And in Massacusetts the age is actually 16, for instance. It depends on the state.

The game publisher, the manufacture of the gaming device, and pretty much everyone else is being sued over Grand Theft Auto for the deaths of 2 Alabama police officers and a dispatcher.

The kid said the game influenced him to kill these people.

Yeah, and this kid is influencing me to kill him!

I bet he's only saying that because he hopes that will give him a lesser sentance. What an idiot.

                          • Some good read about someone else who's tired if this. He sent an email to Clinton and Thompson (but haven't responded)

(...) the scenes involving nudity which we modded into the game (by default, "Hot Coffee" did contain fully clothed actors...) (...)

So it wasn't R* that included the nude skin?

Yes. People who kill should be sent to jail. And people who design, publish, and sell crap that degrades teenagers' souls should be shamed. And folks who deceive the ESRB should have, maybe, the ratings withdrawn on all their games?

Surely there must be a specified age? Anyway, suppose there isn't (or that it's below 18). Then you can have sex in real life, but to watch it in pixel form you have to be 18 or above...
