Should they be? I'd say they should fight as allies if they were both allied defending but wrong OOB from Jonny - but both had same OOB. Probably. But it's probably not clear

To make an allied attack you need to specify it, otherwise you fight separately. They didn't. They screwed up an allied defence. Makes sense, as they both (independantly) allied defended me.
And that's what they deserve for sending me the wrong OOB.
