  • Morrowind arrives!

I am installing now. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the game I ordered included the two expansions, which I'd bought separately (meaning I overpaid by a lot ).

    That you got it.

    not so that you overpaid

and if you have technical probs getting it to run:

If it was the GOTY edition, then yes it comes with the expansions.

I actually bought the original game, and then a couple of months ago bught the GOTY edition. you could say I paid for the same (orginal) game twice. But the GOTY was at a decent price. Cheaper than paying for each expansion separately.

I don't have any recommendations for plugins. I prefer to play the game as it was designed and meant to be played (with patches of course).

If you install the Tribunal expansion, you will find some guys attacking you even when you are a fairly low level. So if you want, you can hold off in installing that. I feel it pushes you into the expansion areas too quickly. It's good to be at least level 20 before going to Tribunal. And level 30 just to be safe . If you aren't very good then you may want to be level 40.

I recommend not getting any plugins until you've played the game a decent bit. Although a few add nicely to the scenery, most are either giving you cool weapons/armor which often are better than you ought to get, or just some MORE quests, which you can always add in later if you want, but there are a lot of quests already. It's hard to really know what to add until you're personally familiar with the game.

Rhedd's heads is a good start.

I was born under the Shadow. How do I use the invisibility power?

                      astronach isn't necessary.

invisibility can be used easily. And it's pretty good for a thief character. just engage it and the hit sneak mode and steal that one item you must have.

assuming you have the PC version. right click to bring up the character/magi menus. A menu on the right sides lists all the maigc spells and power you have. Left click on invisibility. and then right click to exit this screen. hit R to ready magic (it readies powers as well), then left click to use it.

That really sounds complicated doesn't it. The interface isn't as bad as it sounds. A better way is to use hotkeys. Esp for something like invisibility which you may use alot (though you only get it once per day ). I think F1 brings up the hotkey menu. I usually assign weapons to number 1 and 2. And then maybe some spells in 3 to 9.

important thing to remember is to have the power selected, then hit R to ready magic (you will see your hands move up with no weapons in them). And I'm sure you know F readies your weapon. but as I said, hotkeys are much easier.

I may as well mention sneaking, as that is probably what you want invisibility for. It took me a while to figure sneaking out, and I still might know everything about it. It's a hard skill to build up. I usually just train it. but I'm pretty sure being invisibile makes sneaking easier.

So as I was saying above. You could use your invisibility power, then hit the ctrl button to enter sneak mode. It should work. Then hold it down, move to whatever you must steal, and then pick up the item you want to steal. I believe actions like this dispel the invisibility, but it's good for when you only need to steal one thing.

So I'm guaranteed the ability to steal any one object that I want?

Do I need to sneak if I'm invisible?

This game needs an autosave, or some sort of warning feature how am I supposed to know merely touching the pestle thingy would get everyone after me?

Its called stealing for a reason.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).
