        Good for your hand-eye coordination.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

who cares about hand-eye coordination? You'd think that is some mandatory job skill in order to survive in modern society.

I think that's a ****ty reason to play video games. A better reason to play them is to escape reality.

Escapism is a good reason! In combination with the quest for that "sense of wonder"...

So, gamers basically have pathetic lives?

The first thing you ask when being rolled into the operating room:

                - "What's your computer gaming experience?"

                - "+ 48 000 hrs..."

Crusader Kings taught me alot about the people and events of the time.

I think the key ingredients that got me hooked to gaming in 1980 were:

                              1.Fun
                              2.Educational/(sharpens the mind)
                              3.Interactive
                              4.You could make them yourself

Are gamers geeks(ref pathetic lives)? well i certainly know a few that fit that sterotype, but its not an exclusive requirement imho.

Balance is probably a good thing to aim for, somehow i managed to fit in a social life around my heavy gaming habits, but i did loose a girlfriend once - so gaming is not an easy ship to sail in

I find the exercise of the mind the most useful thing that games have brought to me, its a good way to simulate and solve problems.

On the physical side they definately are a bad thing so you need to compensate for this by making sure you give yourself time to do something active.
'The very basis of the liberal idea – the belief of individual freedom is what causes the chaos' - William Kristol, son of the founder of neo-conservitivism, talking about neo-con ideology and its agenda for you.info here. prove me wrong.

Bush's Republican=Neo-con for all intent and purpose. be afraid.

Trebizond from EU2. Or actually from a SHWI what if based on EU2, one of the things that really got me interested in that game.
