The Aielund Trilogy is excellent.
Caereena- Krakona Rising is one of my favorites, very hard for higher level characters.

Everytime I go to load a savegame my poor sorcerer (now up to the dizzying heights of level 4, after having finally escaped that deathtrap hellhole of an academy in the main campaign) hides in my PC, praying that I'll load up one of those pre-generated character thingummies instead ...

It depends on the PW. Some have free respawn. Some have YOU ARE DEAD GO TO HELL.
Most are somewhere inbetween.

I tried Folderol once a long time ago, and it was a well-made and vibrant. The DM interaction was great. It didn't hold my interest, but that was for reasons that are entirely idiosyncratic - I generally prefer worlds with better loot pool and accessibility; after all, finding new toys to play with if half the fun. I seem to recall that roleplay was severly lacking, too - of the people I met only a few made serious attempts to stay in character. That said, it had a few brilliant features (the natural crafting of potions comes to mind) and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a PW. And those greatswords can't possibly be worth the aggravation. All sorts of desert effects and tusken raiders/snipers/shaman respawning everywhere and hordes of whomp rats. Even the Dagger of Chaos I got in SP through the OC and expansions wouldn't be worth the trip.Comment
