Okay, i wasn't going to get in on this, but now I have to say something.

Spaced, why did you trust us in the first place? Seriously? We asked you for help attacking MORON ... who is small enough that I by myself could have beat him (with some serous damage, probably); and certainly Jag and I have no difficulty together attacking him.

I will freely admit that we betrayed you, and I in no way regret it. You had gotten too big, and we needed a way to take you out. The only thing I'm annoyed about is MORON left without destroying your fleet ...

I consider myself to be a very strong ally, with my allies - but anyone else is fair game; if it's in my interest to ally with someone temporarily, i'll do it, but I feel that this game is not ... conducive ... to trust, on anyone's part. If I make a long term alliance - then i'll stick to it (NAP or otherwise). But anyone else is fair game; I may make deals to do things in my best interest, and then only when i think it's also in someone else's best interest (ie yours); i'm not going to make a short term deal with someone that's not in my best interest AND in theirs, or i'm going to be smelling a rat (or they should )

I guess i just see two different ... varieties ... of trust, in this game, and one is ... uncommon. Long term alliances are generally honored - you and ljube and paddy (for as long as that went), or Skanky and Kassi, for example; but the short term deals are sometimes honored and sometimes not. Such is this game. I was shocked that, when I was the bp leader along with jamski for a couple of turns, nobody did the same to me - I probably wouldn't have accepted any alliance at all, other than ones previously made.

So I hope you don't hold this against me, so to speak, but instead have a better understanding of my way of thinking

If I only attacked people who had attacked me, then Kassi, Skanky, and Jamski would either be dead by now or would have killed me off. I have to attack those who will be threats - and you can't say you weren't a threat. 300 something lasers is too much, for anyone. That, and Jaguar considered you a specific enemy, and I am allied to him (via the Rebel Alliance ). Such is how this game goes ...

                      • /me thinks maybe there will be a massive fleet clash at your base ... probably not even involving you ... but the radioactive dust will spill off onto your bases, wiping them away.

                        • Snoopy,

Wow, quite a justification, I hope you feel better about it. The way I see it is that an alliance is an alliance, whether for one turn or many. You broke it with me, who else will you betray?
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

                          • Chapter 13.1
                            Overdeployment

Here is something to think about
With many enemies but only one general, the Empire's days were numbered.

In its recent expansion, the House of Naviwinat and his two lieutenants Zol Ventis and General Ordin had made many bold conquests to restore the throne.

However, while some enemies were completely stamped out, others were merely weakened, or worse, forced into nomadic desperation. General Ordin would be the first to reap his "harvest".

President's Statement at Annual Meeting, Siffan Technologies

"After a resoundingly unprofitable time when all the mobile assets of Siffan Technologies had been packed into shipping containers for a long journey around the galaxy, we have since exploited an opportunity to acquire part of Colony I Systems and automate our enterprise.

Following the installation of our proprietary software, the plants have started production of useful components, which now have reached stockpiles of 10 BPs. It won't be long before we re-enter the starship manufacturing market.

Our Strategic Plan for the following quarter includes the requisition, be force if need be, of our former industrial parks that are currently occupied by General Ordin's irregulars. I do not forsee any difficulty with the plan...

...Ah, this just in. Our Project Team on the Ordin Project have reported success, with no opposition encountered. Eight bases were taken without a fight.

...And with that I invite all to our beer and pizza reception downstairs in the computer lounge."

Ultimately, everyone. As will Jaguar, and Lord Nuclear, and Joncha, and Jamski, and everyone else here. Including yourself. As you said before - there can be only one. It's just a matter of *when*.

And it's not a justification - it's an explanation. (The difference is that I actually believe it ... ) It is how I think this game works - and how, from watching this round and the last one, I think this game *has* worked, for many people. You form alliances, and eventually break them - just a matter of when. I just formed and broke the alliance with you ... quickly.

Honestly I was surprised to find you at home, and not sitting in Jaguar's home (as I was baseless), or in anothers' home (Joncha's?). I understand now why you did - but I think you have ... not the majority view, on how alliances in this game work. Perhaps I'm being mercenary - probably the best description for my view, really - but I think that's how this game works, like a gang of mercenaries.

Or didn't you remember that when you allied with Ljube?
