Matrix Online isn't worth looking at yet IMO. Wait a few months. At present it just has cool combat and not much else.

You couldn't change the credit card number the subscription cost was billed to?

Verto: No, they don't let you change it. Well at least they told us it can't be done.

That is...what is the thinking behind that?

I mean, what happens if your credit card gets stolen and you have to cancel them?

And why would you both play the same Char? Surely he would have kept your char in case you were interested in returning later?

No the Credit Card number cannot be changed, but you can have up to 8 (or was it 12?) characters under one account.

I'm a bit confused by that. I've played WoW Europe and they hit billing problems after the free month because the card authentication system was rejecting a lot of valid cards. While waiting for them to resolve it everyone was switching cards around without a problem.

In your case you are trying to switch credit card owner, address and even country all at once. That might trigger off their "we hate e-selling" alert and make them uncooperative. As far as they are concerned the account is probably still the property of your flatmate since he paid the monthly fee before.
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.
