  • So switching entails rerolling. Hmm, may as well start on PvP then.

    • Yeah...it really does look like the fun endgame is on the PvP servers. I'll probably start my next character on PvP. But for the early game you are in a location with only friendies and monsters, so ganking will not happen until you venture out into the unknown.

Im not sure what Baruk Khazad is , but if they speak Judeo-Dwarvish, that would be "blessed are the dwarves" - lord of the mark

      • I am extremely pissed off.

I have a Level 12 Human Mage on Doomhammer, and was really enjoying the game. I was just playing, and got killed, and logged out of the game before I clicked the release spirit button. Now it won't let me log in again, saying that there is already a character with that name.

        • It should clear in a couple of minutes.

Thing is though, can you be assed to get a second char to 60 before you PvP?

            • Yesterday, I was in Ironforge when it was attacked by the Horde. It was really neat. There were attacks coming from everywhere, mounts and people running away, mass confusion, and guards running to the gate. I knew I couldn't do much, but I ran to the gate as well, along with the Level 60 players, and we PWNED the Horde.

As long as the game is as fun as it is, then: yes!!!

Keep in mind that unless you play as the other faction (and this only counts for your second character) most of the quest you have to do will be eactly the same.

                  • Most quests are pretty much the same anyway.

                    Bring me these items.

                    Kill X number of enemies.

In fact, I don't remember any quests that weren't like that.

                      • That's why PvP or RP are the only two options for 90% of players - only ways the games remain fun. Some (like FFXI) have a bit of a plot, essentially a slightly cruddy SP game, or like Guild Wars, but ... at the end, almost everyone either plays PvP or RP. PvE just gets boring eventually...

                        • But I think PvE is a good place to hone your skills.

It's a good place to learn your skills, and to practice new ones learned. However, few MMORPGs have significant levels of new skills to learn after a few months of playing (well, after say 150-200 hours playing). PvE after that point is useful for gaining small amounts of gold and/or raw materials in some games ... and PvP skills usually vary quite dramatically from PvE, once you have the basics down. (In most games, not all.)
