No, it means SC wins by a narrow margin for SP.

HeHe...TA...a television games program here in Denmark once reviewed TA. The guy in the program pronounced it:

Total Annieheelation. It's cracks me up just thinking about it.

also this business of the Zerg, as broods of mass creatures, attracted to Psi waves, and manipulated by the confederacy, and possibly the hinted at creation of hybrid creatures with them, sounds rather like SMAC. SMAC came later, did it not? Is this theme based on preexisting scifi, like Dune?

whats the setting for TA? I mean Im already slumming it to play sci fi games, at least they either have a strong sci fi gameplay element like MOO2 or a strong plot like Starcraft (or both, like SMAC) Im not real interested in a vaguely contemporary but not realistic or historical setting. A game like that would need STELLAR gameplay to offset.

Big honking robots duking it out.

It's the gameplay that's good, not the plot.

Actually if anything, SC reminds me a lot of Starship Troopers

I'm having a bit of a technical problem with Starcraft. When I put it into my DVD or CD Drive, it either takes around ten minutes to load, or doesn't at all. And then when I try to click it, nothing happens, but it appears as if it's loading something for a few seconds, and then stops. It's a new CD, so no scratches either. I don't have any viruses. Any help?

They'll drive that home in the Brood War Terran campaign.

The scenarios are all the same. You must first withstand the initial assault, then keep building more and more until you overwhelm the other side.

"Civil wars" are worse because you don't even have the "paper, rock, and scissors" effect there. Simple, mind-numbing attrition.

I like the broadly different play styles in starcraft, which no other game does as well. (Warcraft 3 tried, but is too hero focused)

I mean you look at a lot of games, like AoE. There is rock paper scissors there, but it is the same rock paper scissors for every race (basically), with Starcraft it is very different.

yah, well AoE of course didnt have races, but Civs, which were differentiated, but subtly(restrains self from mentioning historical accuracy). I suppose the high differentiation of SC helps make multiplayer interesting.

OTOH if UR is right, and the scens arent going to get more different than they have been so far, Id have to say the AOE SP campaigns are superior(as far as varied gameplay, that is - SC of course has more elaborate "continuity" material - in AOE you want more "Continuity" you go read a book or see a movie about the period). and yes, Im talking AOE, not AOK.
