Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
This situation requires a vote. We all know duke o' york wanted to guess vitric but in an attempt to amuse himself he decided to do it by guessing first R and then V (we also know vitric is the only word that fits the combo). So, please decide if the point goes to duke who guessed the word in spirit, or to joncha who guessed the word in strict accordance with the rules and won over a technicality.
Also consider that duke probably won't be online during the weekend.

Just an observation, Spike, no value judgment involved.
I would not hazard a guess as to the reason.
As one who has missed out on the endgame many times while sleeping, commuting, working, etc, I would vote the point to duke o' york, whoo clearly knew the answer.
Joncha was merely playing vulture IMHO and I see no value in rewarding that.
'Course I'm a relative n00b at this, but that's my $0.02.

Struth mate, if Vultures don't get votes then most of the scores here would be quite different

wonder what the old Doc will say about all this then
I think you both are spectacularly missing the point. If you don't see the difference between benefitting luckily from what turns out to be a well chosen letter by someone else (which happens in almost every single game) and jumping in front of someone who has got the word, and in effect posted it already, I really feel sorry for you.
Of course what Joncha did was amusing, but I fully expected him to pass the point on when the word was confirmed, because whilst he was acting according to the letter of the law he wasn't acting in the spirit of them.
And Jrabbit/Paddy, I do practice what I preach on this point. Just last game I gave up a point that was rightfully mine because someone made a stupid guess that could not in any circumstances help guess the word. I assumed a mistake and gave them the benefit of the doubt despite the rules, and Ljube ultimately took my point.
As to who gets the point it can only be Joncha's decision, no one elses, so a vote isn't the way forward. Duke's guess was invalid, so Joncha wins, and if he chooses to take the point it is his.
Indeed. So, while we're waiting on joncha's and duke's opinion on this point and our final decision, how about I give another word to help pass the time?
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

Yes I do point it out when people make obviously bad guesses. Like when you guessed Buddy without waiting for the word to be updated after Ljube's (ultimately) correct F guess.
However, this is not the point that's being discussed. I often wonder if you read threads at all before posting Paddy.
