  • Whew, it has been successfully downloaded. Only took six hours.

Hmm, mouse doesn't display. According to the tech FAQ since I have a Voodoo3 card I have to turn down my drivers hardware acceleration, though I don't know where to find it. In the depths of my windows folder?

Next time, I'll pick a nation that can get decent patrollers...

            • Some help you lot are, though I figured out that if I put it in windowed mode the cursor shows up.

Lots of choices in the making of a god, wow.

Sorry, wasn't sure what your computer problem was, I never ran into it.

A good choice for a newbie might be a no magic Wyrm and a good troop nation like Jotunhiem (is that available in the demo?). One very important tip: don't take turmoil scale.

Ah, I had forgotten about that, it is a a great resource for getting started.

                    • The lands of Ulm are in turmoil as the very earth seems to be rebeling against the priests who claim mastery over it. Some point towards the wizards of Arcoscephale, who have always been envious of Ulm's great forges, while other's say that is a lingering curse from the vanquished necromancers of Ermor- and indeed, undead do still plague the land. Some will even tell you that it is a holy retribution, against corruption within the Black order itself. But regardless, the people's faith remains strong and all are encouraged by the raging fires of the Great Forge, which can be seen lighting the sky above the capital from across the realm.

                      • Oh, I had a question unrelated to the PBEM game.

What counts as a "construct" as far as a golem cult is concerned? I assume that clockwork heroes and living statues would be obvious candidates, but what about vinemen, or even the undead? Do the bonuses count for creatures summoned in battle, or only those through a ritual casting?

They need to mindless, lifeless and not undead. So, vinemen would not work as they are not lifeless. I'm not aware of any battle summons the golem cult would effect.

                          • Golem cult was horribly bugged the last time I checked. You get 10% X Dominion Strength bonus hp on golem style summons (so a full 10 dominion will give you double hp). Unfortunately, this gets 'reset' whenever you visit any lab, so if your mechanical armies visit a lab on the edge of your empire, they'll lose hit points.

Even worse was the fact that the reset effect even works when besieging an enemy fort with a lab inside; your golems go back to having normal hit points.

They might have fixed it by now though.

                            • Well, that's the last time I trust the AI to do anything... ****ing stupid golem doing nothing but casting spells and knocking himself unconcious.

                              ****.

                              • Spellcasters wearing heavy armour will get exhausted very quickly. That's why all my Gygjas are equipped with battle shrouds.

You'd be better off using those golems as indestructible casters rather than tramplers, IMO. If no-one's using magic duel, that is...
