  • Just a few notes.

    1. Transfer of bases happens after the turn, not before. So, if anyone had attacked Spaced Cowboy he would have captured all of his bases.

    2. Ten percent attrition starts on the first turn without bases which means not on the turn you lost your bases. Herc should have his whole fleet. That's how the rule had been applied before.

        I agree with 2, but disagree with 1.

        The rules are not clear on 1, but before attack allows for more tactical options.

        While we are on the subject I also favor allowing the use of a shield and attacking.

        I also favor multiple target attacks.

          • Clarifications and comments:
            ------------------------------------
            Base transfer rules are unclear on when exactly this takes place, and the last set of orders didnt require a judgement to be made. However, having them before battles does setup potential abuse of the system, where one person conquers bases while the other one guards them behind shields. So, transfers will be after battles.

            Fleet attrition I placed immediately after the battle or shield impact, on the rationale that a fleet with no base to return to would be inadequately supplied for a subsequent battle the following turn.

            Multiple attacks would essentially make it a whole new game. For one thing, it gives players with large fleets a huge advantage. It would also make GMing the game far more complex.

            Attacking while shields are up is for wimps, not Galactic Overlords.

            • I think shields should be strengthened slightly too. Rather than doing damage per attack, it should do damage per attacker. So if a group of allies attacks a single target, each ally gets damaged the same as if they were attacking a shielded player by themselves.
              I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

                          No, I handle everything according to the rules.

                          Concerning the effectiveness of shields I agree they should be strengthened and I repeat my suggestion they inflict 10 to 20 percent damage on the attacker.
