In that case I'd say PCI-E (or descendants) looks like the future but at present nothing is on the market to take advantage of the potential. So I wouldn't be too worried about getting an 'old' AGP card.

Well you can pick it up in benchmarks, but in terms of a noticeable difference in practical terms there isn't one.
Always worth looking at the prices. 200Mhz more when you are at the top of the range costs a lot, for small gain. 200Mhz a bit off the top might well not set you back much more.

I mean
U wouldnt take a hammer to do a skillsaw job now would you?
I hear lots of complaints about this game sux or blows..because of this or that when in fact the pc was never intended to perform
or
somone sez a game sux or blows because it look just like the version of two years earlier
we need to have the proper equipment to run state of the art games
I believe this is what we are doing hee

but if said MB is a monorail busload then probably then port would need to be manually opened and of course one would have to do an ip config from the "RUN" option on DOS
But thats all irrelevant if your imp code is set to a number greater than the d/l speed your clock is set at on a 133/133 speed in the BIOS
ok

why dont u guys care bout this game, it sounds like they'll make an impossibly different (as in more real) physics engine
BTW by the time this is out (end this yr maybe? ) the hardware to run it wouldnt cost too much (like mid range generation directX 10?
dont hate RTS, it has a lot in common w/ TBS

that this will be a next generation engine...or the hopes of it will be
as for hating I dont think people hate as much as dont care for
Me I like both
In CIVIII in the few games of MP I had the privelege of playing I like whatever they call it where you play your turns and click in and then it would seem like simultaneaously the next turn was up..kinda like a mid point of the RTS and TBS
I do both games each for a different reason
In AOEII:The Conquerors I enjoyed the map editor and hope this will have a similiar feature
Most games have decent editors except C & C Generals which I havent really had the time to learn
Ok
Looking forward to I think Solver said February for some screenshots or updates

I think a historical RTS with a realistic physics engine is a terrific idea. I'm just a little antsy about the execution; seems like it would be pretty difficult to pull off.
I'm also wondering how they are going to pull off the whole "age of exploration" thing in a RTS context. Will there be playable aboriginal nations?"My nation is the world, and my religion is to do good." --Thomas Paine
"The subject of onanism is inexhaustable." --Sigmund Freud

No, but aboriginal nations are there (computer-controlled) and you can "ally" with them. Allying with a native tribe gives you a bonus. Allying with them all might or might not win the game for you.Solver, WePlayCiv Co-Administrator
