      dominions 2 I believe.
These two are both awesome, though Europa Universalis can be a bit of an aquired taste (I didn't like it much right after I bought it, but when I picked it up again a few months later I really got into it).

Cheapskate. Sure to play for 3 months will cost you $30 more than with a normal game, but if it is your main game you will get 150 hours of play easily. You've posted $1/hour as your target, and WoW or CoH will hit that with ease.

          As for games:

          WoW (European release)
          KotOR2
          Civ4 later on.

No current or older games, though I have a few I still need to play but already own.

Yeah, RTW is good, but it's just not my style of a game. I still understand it's great for its genre though. Civ 4 might be out for next Christmas... maybe. No real idea here - nothing has been announced.

SWAT4 was scheduled for this spring. AoE3 is only going to get announced, but it's scheduled for October/November.

And yeah, AoE2 is still a great game .

Having this older machine, I only play older games. I already have more stuff I want o play than I'm going to instll in the next few months, but I'm down to just a couple on my "go into the store and see if it's there and cheap" list

I just can't bring myself to be interested in anything else.

I'll certainly be watching for Civ4, though. probably won't buy until it gets down to 20$ even if it is so great.

Wouldn't hold my breath for Civ4 before early 2006.

I wouldn't mind it if it's a next year release as long as the game gets the polish it needs. I'd rather play a polished Civ4 a year from now than a buggy Civ4 10 months from now.

I'll pickup R:TW some time soon, but I guess there's nothing else really screaming "buy me" at the moment...

Everytime I read a statement like this I wonder what the company thinks

                      would it be:

                      A-Release a great playable game

B-Release a Great Playable Game then patch it

C-Ask Marketing what they think.. never mind we know what they want

I do agree Solver..lets get a good playable version..

question will still be..by whom's standards

hm, now that i'm thinking, i might buy Pirates! in the next days... i don't even have any more space on my HD for new games, and Half-Life (the original from 1998) is the one i'm playing now - beside Civ3 and SMAC.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

Frankly, based on Firaxis' previous release schedule, 2006 would be pretty much definite. The only way I can really see 2005 would be because of whoever the new publisher is.

                            Well, I prefer old games:

If you don't have them already, I'd suggest:

                            *Europa Universalis 2 (a great TBS/RTS/Risk hybrid!)
*KOHAN: Immortal Soverigns (Possibly the best RTS ever- no downtime, and its story based!)
*BG2 is a great game, I must agree- but I also suggest BG the original and Icewind Dale II (two other amazing games)
*And if you're still waiting for THE MOVIES, how about you pick up HOLLYWOOD MOGUL, a text-based, but addictive game about the same situation. You can order it on the internet. It runs like Baseball Mogul and other text-simulated things and you can hire and fire actors, directors, etc. and write screenplays and fund all sorts of different things from SfX to advertising!

I'm praying that Firaxis themselves bought the rights so no dickhead publishers can dictate terms, like Atari.
