    There was still plenty of strategy involved within those alliances.

    Also note that 1 person who was not a member of either grand alliance was one of the last 2 players.

      Giant mecha Maybe introduce land combat on a planetary scale? Troop buildup, safe transport, logistics, the whole thing.
