Well, with the Christmas and New Year coming up, I think if we were to start now, the game would go quite slowly. I know I won't be around much for the next couple of weeks.
Therefore, unless people insist on an earlier date, I will start Monday, 3 January 2005.
(I will still be scarcely around then, actually, as yours truly is an Orthodox Christian and hence celebrates his Christmas on the 7th of January, but I'll be around enough to keep the game going. )

Problem: We're going off on holiday at pretty that exact time (!), and I won't be back until the 8th or so.
