    • Ah, good ol' Castle of the Winds. The best part of that game was that you could name every single piece of equipment you had!
I make movies. Come check 'em out.

Googled answers do not count anyway.

Ah yes, but nobody got it right, i didn't know if a googled answer was superior to a non-answer.

              • Blah, that shoots down my next hope ... as Angband was made in 1990; not really shareware (freeware), but not text based ... but made by a Robert, or Alex and Andy, not a Steve. Ah well.

                • Super Hero League of Hoboken by Steve Meretzky?
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

                    You actually get negative points.

                    • Clue 3: This game is part of a series of early games by "steve"... More specifically it was released in either 1991 or 1992.

And it's still sold on "steve"'s company's website.

(Next clue I'll start giving out hints about the game itself- I'll be on again in a three hours... guess people please! Don't you play fantasy games- the maker of this game was/is FAMOUS!)

                      Review of Clues:

                      1.) PC game
                      2.) Early 1990s
                      3.) "Shareware"
                      4.) Fantasy-based
5.) Made by a game named Steve
6.) Steve Still Has a website where he sells games
                      7.) 1991 or 1992
                      8.) Part of a Series

                            • Gee. How do you guys know all these obscure SNES/Atari games when you don't know computer games? This game was HUGE!

Okay, well, last hint and if no one gets it in 24 hours, then I suppose I should, as decorum dictates, let someone else have a try with a new game.

Clue 6: It was a Sequel
                              Clue 7: Moraffware.
Clue 8: Descend into Randomly Generated Dungeons where it gets more dangerous the deeper you go- battle Vampires, etc.
