did Renegade? have a driveing section? using a net rings a bell............trying to think of games that caused an uproar when they were released(Barbarian2 for example with the 'head chopping/kicking' for example).
Still I think i did play this game on the amiga - maybe a demo or something as i cant quite remember it.....

Renegade had no driving section, not that I have any better suggestions.

Still i think i can say for most of us that we're enjoying the challange you have thrown down, so dont give up on us yet

Edit: oops i forgot my guess - is it one of the many early Spiderman games?

Well, contra had music, I think, but it's a good guess, I guess (though the net thing confuses me a bit)...

close enough for jazz. the actual game i was thinking of was Technocop, for the sega genesis.

Wouldn't have got that; my Megadrive knowledge is relatively limited.

Right, Technocop. It's easy to forget those names in the long run I only remember that game because it was so hideously violent.

I'll post a new clue this afternoon

Technocop!? This one's beyond me as well...
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.
