Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
That game was awesome, but that ending was craptacular.
Spoiler:
How exactly did the Ebon Hawk go from being a crumpled wreck into a perfect, soaring ship?
Why on God's green Earth was the end sequence broken up by a pair of utterly pointless "take control of this other character" bits? I mean, great, Mira defeats Hanharr again and let's him live. (Yeah, I'm a goody-goody.) What does that have to do with anything? And Bao-Dur's remote? Seriously, WTF was that about? Especially with G0T0 and everything.
If I'm gonna see those three characters at the end (the characters I probably used least of all), then why can't I see anyone else?
I know it's possible to make Atton a Jedi. My original game hit the save game snafu right after I did that the first time, and this time for some unknown reason I never got enough influence with him. And the Handmaiden, obviously is destined to be a Jedi. Can I make anyone else a Jedi? Bao-Dur? Mira?
And, god damn it, I could not find the droid chassis to repair HK-47. That really pissed me off--I love that psychotic bucket of bolts.
And what romance options are available to a light-sided male? I really couldn't make anything happen until some vague "sight" thing with Visas towards the end.
Christ on a pogo stick, even that bit in the Telos Academy made no sense. Suddenly I'm attacking Atris and the Maidens? Flesh it out a little more people, Jesus.
All that said, the suckitude of the ending sequence(s) doe not even come close to overwhelming the greatness of the game, saved game snafus notwithstanding.
Kreia is an awesome character. Just wish everything had been a bit fleshed out more, especially with her, but really with all the characters.
I think I'll try the next one as a female Sith Lord, as opposed to a male Weapon Master. How different will my experience be?

yeah the ending leaves a bit to desired. I just use my imagination and pretend it's better
As for the Ebon Hawk suddenly working (if you do the light side ending), no one knows
The ending sequences with Mira may have played a role. There a thread in the Obsidian forums with cut content. You can access some of this content on the PC version by playing some of the files in the KOTOR folders. I have a huge long ass quoted/spoiler post a few pages back. It lists some stuff that was supposed to be in the ending apparantly, but were cut do to time constraints. And I do believe Mira is involved. The ending was supposed to be a little similar to Planescape:torment in that your NPC's will defend you at the end. Butt his never happens. Oh well.
The remote/GOTO thing isn't explained either. I guess we are to assume that the remote wins (which seems impossible to me) for the light side ending, and GOTO wins for the dark side ending. bleh
HK-47 actually has a couple places to find parts. Mainly on Dantoine and Nar Shadaa (also a part on Telos on the ice pole base). It's hard to really have fun with him on light side anyways. Dark side is best. He loves it when you go around killing people- easy way to gain influence. And he can boost some of your stats with enough influence- through conversation.
Bua-Dur and Mira can be made into Jedi's. So can Disciple (who can only appear if you main character is female). You need to gain enough influence with them. And you can't do it through conversation alone. You'll have to take them along with you and certain events will have them gain influence.
As for romances, see my above post. All I got was the sight thing with Visas. I think that's all you can get for romance with her.
And for the Telo jedi Academy and Atris. Your guess is as good as mine.
Some of these things can become a little clearer if you gain influence with the appropiate party members. You need to gain influence with Bua-Dur to figure out more about the shadow generator on malachor-5. Kreia influence helps a bit too. Same with Atton.
The remote/GOTO thing isn't explained either. I guess we are to assume that the remote wins (which seems impossible to me) for the light side ending, and GOTO wins for the dark side ending. bleh
Spoiler:
HK-47 and a bunch of HK-50's were supposed to arrive to save the day. The HK-50s would follow 47's orders, not GOTOs, because of some weird programming. It's all on the missing content page here. The HK-50s are part of a larger plot regarding the elusive HK factory which was apparently axed from the game alongside the real ending.
The real ending, of course, was probably cut because LucasArts wanted to rush the game out for the Christmas market, meaning Obsidian did not have time to animate all those scenes.
Btw, they could have been a bit more clearer on GOTO's identity. I talked to him quite a bit but didn't realize it was GOTO himself, not a proxy droid of his, until I read about it on the Internet. I think the writing is broken if I could miss something like that.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!
you're not supposed to know unless you observe several things on Nar Shadaa, in which case new dialogue with GOTO opens up and you confront him and say "you're a droid, aren't you"
Does anyone have a suggestion for the order of planets/quests to do to maximize the amount of plot and Jedi conversion for your characters?
It seemed natural for me to start with Dantooine, since that's where I'd be most likely to find saber parts. In retrospect, Nar Shaddaa might be the best place to start, as you can almost fill our your roster there, giving more opportunities for influence. (Though does our veiled friend only appear on the ship on a certain planet, or does his/her appearance relate more to your character's level?)
Spoiler:
And is there an explanation for why Kreia can't read Bao-Dur's mind, but I can? And is even Mandalore able to become a Jedi?

The "veiled friend" probably appears based on the stage you are in the game, that is, your level and how many planets you have visited. I got her/him on Dxun/Onderon, which was the first place I visited.
No wait, the third.
Spoiler:
I went Dxun->Iziz->Nar Shaddaa->Dxun, and then it happened. Right as I was hopping back to the ship to construct my lightsabre, no less, so I had to fight with my two vibroswords.

Ah. See, that person paid me a visit at my first planet, Dantooine.
Thanks everyone for answering my questions.
Seems silly, but my #1 hope for my dark sider (I think I'll go with a male still) will probably be reconstructing HK-47. I missed him last game. I'll probably not use Kreia as much this time, simply because I won't need two consulars at once.

That's not what it depends on.
It depends on how far towards light or dark side you are.
Spoiler:
When you get far enough (I believe it's 75%) towards being dark or light side, you get that cutscene which introduces Visas, where she gets choked and then goes off to search for you. Then she'll appear on the Ebon Hawk roughly the second time you visit it.

Always Dantooine or Nar Shaddaa first. You can even do part of Dantooine, then go to Nar Shaddaa, and come back to Dantooine.
Onderon and Dxun is the least useful planet of those three.

If I play again (probably after the patch comes out). I'll probably do part of Dantoine first to go to the crystal cave. Then go to Nar Shadaa. Finish that up, and the finish Dantoine.
