Battlefield 1942, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, Battlefield Vietnam, Doom3, Half-Life 2.... that's just off the top of my head.
To us, it is the BEAST.

      • yeah people always say they buy games if they are good, but how many people actually do that?

I won't bull**** you. All the songs I download aren't for "sampling". I keep them for my own personal use .

There's a reason why I consider downloading songs less harmful than downloading software.

There will always be people willing to record music and make music. No matter how little money they make. It's a glamorous life. The extra money is just icing on the cake. And they will continue to produce "underground" and less popular music even though they make next to nothing. All this napster and music downloading hasn't forced bands to make "popular" music so they can stay afloat. Yes I realize stealing is stealing. But I have no moral values. I'm not justifying "stealing" music. I just don't give ****. The reason why I don't like stealing games is explained below.

But it's different in the computer game industry. I already see a consolidation of companies just to stay afloat, and profitable. And then they are forced to dumb down games to make them more appealable to a wider audience. . If they could actually make money selling smaller/independant games this would not be the case.

I have no problems shelling out $50 for a good game. If I were to steal games, it would be popular games like Sims2 that make a ton of money anyways. But I would not do it for genres that aren't as popular like serious rpg's and TBS games.

          Then to your willpower.

I've bought games before after sampling them, but I wouldn't say I always do, even if they are good.

For me (in the UK) the main driver is late releases. I'm just impatient when a juicy game gets released.

Well I did waste $20 on a shadowbane expansion for god knows what reason...

Every game I buy, I regret doig so. So I've stoped doing it.

              • I do regret buying Sims2. Like I mentioned earlier, it's a popular game. The programmers aren't likely to be out of business anytime soon.

I just don't know any good sites to find free games. That's why I made my thread. I want to find jagged alliance 2 and system shock 2 for free. It does me know good if you guys don't post the web address (or better yet, PM me ). I don't do searches because it'd be too likely to find an virus if I used the first one I found.

But games such as KOTOR2 I don't regret buying. They are a small upstart company, and need my support. Though perhaps they do deserve a little punishment for not finishing the damn game. But there's still enough cool **** in that game to be worth the $38 I paid for it.

I always read every review I can to find out as much as I can about the game before I think about buying it.

I knew you would only defend it for about a week before you cracked.

It wasn't a bad game, just not worth $50. I didn't get more than 30 hours out of it. So by the minimum requirment of $1/hr, I shouldn't have paid over $30 for it.

women. They are the one's that keep buying the expansion packs .

I have no intention of buying any expansion packs.

Well I guess avoiding being bitten twice is fair enough, though I did warn you about the first bite too.

                              • I bought The Sims 2 to my niece for Christmas. She was ecstatic! She loves that game. I don't think I would like it myself. If you look at the games I own, there's always violence involved.
