I remember specifically that the rule is last in attacks first, because I argued with Jamski about it for ages.

Hmmm, let me see when I sent my orders.

I sent them 13 minutes after you posted 'sent'.

I think we should talk about that next time b/c whoever sent 1st should have a chance to decide if they want to attack 1st or not.

If you sent them last then there is no mistake.

However, to re-re-debate the attack order thing I think the current situation is stupid. It makes no sense to provide an advantage to someone fortunate enough to send their orders first, or fortunate enough to be online just before an update. No sense whatsoever. It should be random.

Or have the GM PM the 1st poster once all orders are in, to decide if they wish to attack 1st or 2nd?

Well in giving the 1st player a choice you are giving them information and an advantage. The whole point I am making that if 2 people attack who gets first shot (which may or may not be best) should be random.

Last send attack first is a very important rule and is part of every successful strategy. There is no luck in it. Theben took the risk and sent his orders just before my update and he won the prize.

You DrSpike could have ordered your fleet to attack whoever they find there and you might have defeated Theben and scored a double point.

There is a very clear ruling. Last to send attacks first. It has been like that since the beginning.

Ljube is 100% correct on this one.

Just thought I should clarify........Ljube's story kinda implies that there was a chance of me allying with him to take out Spaced. Just to be clear, had DrSpike contacted me, I would not have under any circumstances joined in that battle. Further, had he contacted me I would have notified Spaced that such an attack was coming and likely joined with him for an attack on DrSpike (which in hindsight would have been a very good thing.....though Theben would have had a clear advantage at that point).

Actually Theben just happened to check in time to see your '1 hour left' notice, because before that I was thinking you meant 48 hours from the update. So since I didn't see Spaced online or a 'sent' by him, and rapidly running out of options, I attacked him. I sent my orders as soon as I could and just got very, very lucky.

What mistakes? Not mine, since I double check what I do and if I see a mistake I correct it.

Let me clarify. One possible mistake, since back in the beginning when I took Jamski's 3 bases and Skanky sent one frigate afterwards, I would think it unlikely he ordered that one frigate to attack whoever is there.

Think it unlikely but Skanky did just that.

Good for a second, I thought Sparrow did a theben on me. I would have gladly given my bases to sparrow.

I sent my orders in about 10 minutes after the last turn posted. So I was actually the first with orders in. Should have used my shield....damn, thought you guys were going to be lame again. I was wrong...twice.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

Round 18 - Never trust the founders

After the elimination of the Pralor Automated Units, founder DrSpike ordered the termination of the sixth Weyoun clone and activated his seventh clone for failing to attack the Kazon at Pralor bases. He then called another meeting of the high council of the Dominion. Weyoun, Sparrowhawk and DrSpike were present.

Weyoun explained the founder’s plan to Chairman Sparrowhawk of the Trabe.
“It is a very simple yet brilliant plan to attack the Kazon with everything we have got and destroy them now when we are sure they have no more operational shield generators.”

Sparrowhawk thought a few moments before saying: “Founder DrSpike, I mean no disrespect, but the Trabe have suffered greatly in this conflict and it is only fair that we are compensated adequately for our loyal service to the Dominion. This calls for a division of captured Kazon bases and planets in favour of the Trabe. Twenty two to thirteen to be exact.”

Weyoun looked at Sparrowhawk in shock.
“You dare question the will of the founders? The best compensation for you should be the knowledge that the sacrifices your people have suffered have not been in vain and that the Dominion is victorious again.”
“I repeat, I meant no disrespect, but our people are unhappy because they have gotten nothing out of this deal with the Dominion so far.”
“Your people should be happy because they have been fortunate enough to be able to give their lives for the founders and the Dominion.”

DrSpike was listening to this conversation.
“I have decided to grant your request for the division of the bases Chairman Sparrowhawk. But in order to do so, you must commit the entire Trabe fleet to the allied attack. I will lead the joint fleet personally.”

And the Grand Dominion-Trabe armada assembled near the Kazon border and proceeded for Kazon Pommar bases. Shortly after they entered warp parts of Trabe fleet changed course and left back to the Trabe space. Only 12 of eack kind of titans remained. Chairman Sparrowhawk was not with the Dominion any more.

“Treachery most vile, oh glorious founder”, Weyoun despaired. “The Kazon are very strong. What if they match our order of battle? This could be the end of the Dominion as we know it.”
“Fear not loyal Weyoun”, DrSpike replied. “I have anticipated this development. Our infiltrators have obtained a full order of battle Kazon are going to use and have sabotaged their comm. systems also. Even with only half of Trabe fleet committed to this battle we are still looking at a victory. And the bases will be split half-half. And then I shall decide what to do with Trabe traitors.”

The battle is bloody. Theben loses 2 carrier cruisers, 40 carrier battleships and 3 carrier dreadnaughts and one of his carrier titans is damaged. The allies lose ten carrier titans and their eleventh is damaged.

The allies lose 3 more carrier titans (Sparrowhawk 2 and DrSpike 1) and another of their carrier titans is damaged. Theben loses the remaining 4 carrier titans, 2 laser cruisers and 47 laser battleships and his forty-eighth laser battleship is damaged. Since the battle is to the death, it continues.

                                300F – 0F – Theben takes 300 hits
                                160L – 66L – Theben takes 94 hits
160L – 66L – Theben takes 94 hits and his entire fleet is destroyed.

But before his last torpedo titan was destroyed, Supreme Maje Theben managed to send his final transmission to his Kazon subjects.

Loyal Kazon subjects, our Imperium has collapsed and we can no longer exist as a free and powerful race. It’s back to Trabe slavery for us. So my final order to all proud Kazon is to commit suicide rather than be subject to slavery once more.

And all Kazon obeyed their Supreme Maje’s final order.
When the dust settled, the Trabe got 18 and the Dominion 17 of the former Kazon, now completely empty bases.
