Yep, i used that to zap open chests, but you have to be a wiz or sorc.

    ACK!
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!

This wand you get only if you are an INT caster in level 1. The build in question does have a sorceror level indeed, but I don't know when it was added.

What I'm about to suggest is really munchkin character building if your ultimate goal is a rogue/AA. Start with a level of rogue and get to level 2 in the prelude and take wizard. Export your character and restart the prelude as a level 2 rogue/wizard and get the wand, then take rogue levels until your ready to switch to AA.

This way, you get the starting x4 rogue skill points and the unlimited wand.

Possible, but 1) that smells like cheating, and 2) it's not a good idea to base a character build on items found in a specific campaign.

But that aside, I once built a rogue/bard/AA, and that combination rocked, with quite some rogue skills (hide, move silently, search, disarm and unlock) developed pretty high, a nice bardic song for yourself and your allies, and three fireball arrows per day.

I define cheating as using non-game resources to boost a character (non-game being editors or the console). What I described above I define as exploitation as it uses the game system.

Ok, that's a question of definition. I give this point to you, it's not a cheat, but an exploit. But how ever we finally call it, it's not a "normally developed" character, that was my point. Although, opportunities in this game are rich and everything providing fun is allowed.

yeah you are exploiting the knowledge of the game.

                  Woo hoo!
Despite having taken a day off work (so no lunchtime posting), here I am at 'poly!
I've just had my third interview in a week, and since I've got school tonight at 6, I've come to the university to finally get my log-in sorted out. So, er, here I am at an odd time.

I played some more of the Neverwinter Wood this morning, and have only the cave and the altar to do now. I managed to pick up a random knock spell in a chest, but I haven't been bothered to go all the way back down to the Creator Ruins to find out what was in that chest. The cheapest bow I could find was a +1 composite shortbow, but since I've nearly got 40k now, I wasn't too bothered. I'm not selling any more elemental arrows I find now though. The witch's cave was quite good fun, and those invisible stalkers are nice, but they could have been so much better with better AI - running away from you when you hit them to exploit their invisibility and hit you again/force you to use a potion of clarity. Still, all good fun.
I still find dire bears quite tough, but maybe that's just because I'm a weakling. Tomi's only got 2 less HP than I do, and he's a level below me.

Clarity is against mind affecting spells and doesn't affect your vision. What you want is "see invisible"; it is not available as potion, only as spell or scroll.

                      Aha! Oops.

I'd be a hell of a lot better if I liked .pdf manuals.
And if my manual for HotU wasn't in Thai.

                          That is one option, certainly.

But I've got some canine friends who may be able to help me with this one.

Getting a true seeing item is tough, I don't recall one in the OC. Still, there aren't many invisible foes.

Well there might be lots I guess. There aren't many that attack you though.
