  • you asked for it. I'll spoil more.

Get this: your character becomes a jedi!! can you believe it. A jedi!!

actually to be more tecnically accurate, he become a force user. (that actually might be a minor spoiler )

    • and there is a bad guy you have to kill at the end of the game to complete it. OMG!!

      • And the bad guy is a force user as well!

          • Oh please, (played KOTOR 1 and 2 to stay on topic )

My point is, puh-friggin-leeeze. The Jedi order was so arrogant and corrupt that the Sith was the only salvation toward having the universe seeing both sides of the Force. As Palpatine wisely said, "to understand the great mystery, one must understand ALL its aspect..."

The Jedi only gives the 'light side' point of view. Force heal, Knight shield. Ohhh, please. Give me Force Lightning and Force choke anyday. When the jedi influence another person to say what they want to hear, isn't THAT an obvious influence of the Force?

Puh-leeze, the Jedi order is so hypocritical its disgusting. The Sith are faar more honest than the jedi were/are. And play KOTOR 1 and 2, and you'll realize the truth in the Sith teachings...

So to 'restore the balance', you tip it from one dangerous extreme to another? puh-leeze!

There's wisdom in that particular thing Palpatine said about taking a 'broader view', but he hardly practises what he preaches there. Instead of focusing on the broader view, he instead focuses on the opposite half to the Jedi.

The way I see it, he said all that only to make the ways of the Sith seem more palatable to the increasingly conflicted Anakin Skywalker.

Just as the Jedi only give the 'light side' point of view, the Sith give only the 'dark side' point of view. Each side is only half of the 'broader view'.

OK, I concede that the Jedi of the Clone War era (and the KOTOR era) were arrogant, complacent, hypocritical and stodgy. But I'd hardly believe Palpatine to be the poster child for honesty either, though he is clearly the quintessential Sith Lord.

The one i met in KOTOR seemed nice enough? If she hadn't insisted on drinking all night and passed out i would have scored

Still i disagree with the pro-sith/darkside sympathisers here, your reasonings are sounding like the stuff neo-cons come out with all the time - fataly flawed i'm afriad.

Darkside/Sith = evil at the base level(enslaving wookies/destroying Tarris?(911?)/using war to further their gains)

Lightside/Rebels = good. freedom for all sentient beings/true democratic rule(not rule by fear/terror etc)/trying to bring peace to the galaxy.

Its prety cut and dry imho

Just as well she passed out - she planned to slit your throat while you slept and steal your items.

yeah maybe it was a lucky escape, the darkside can do bad things to a persons character, she could have just lied through her teeth at me, pretending to be something she isn't; and then finished me off later

Never trust a neo-sith i think is a good moto

As for my current game - i've really gone with the scoundrel role-play part this time around, he's a carousing, wench stealing, pazak king. I have to watch my darkside though - i've picked up a few by going for money over honour choices. I'm not likeing the grey/dark clouds that are behind my characters picture screen...........its a slippery slope the dark side.

                        • Likeable scoundrels are quite weak in the system though - you are better off being whiter than white and using light side force powers or being blacker than black and using dark side powers.

                          • yeah but the game is easy enough as it is.

I don't recommend neutral characters in Kotor 2 however. This is a minor spoiler so don't continue reading if you don't want it. You might not ever get your prestige class if you are neutral. You need to be about 75% light or dark to get it.

                            • Well i'm much closer to the dark side at the momment - but i'm not happy to make obvious evil choices in the game(although i did kill missions brother for being an all around a**hole - shes better off without him). So i'll see how it pans out. As with many games i don't mind a technical handicap a game gives me if i can role-play around it. I might not end up with an uber character in KOTOR - but as Dis said, the game is kind of a walkthrough, its strength imho being the abiltiy to pull you into its star wars universe, which it does very well
I'm pwning the poor pazak player in the hunting lodge - i've won about 3000 credits out of him so far.

HK must be eveyones fav character right? I'm still laughing at his dialogue - they did an excellent job with him (for Bioware)
