Turn 2 - Attack pays off, almost every time

Shaken by the surprise attack of the Trabe, whom they had considered their allies before, Captain Kassiopeia Janeway and her crew doubled their shipbuilding efforts in a desperate bid to preserve what little they had left. Kassiopeia knew her recent shameful defeat had exposed her weakness and she feared another attack this turn. If only there was a way to stop the Trabe from capitalising on their initial success, but she knew precious little about her adversaries.

Then a local man named Neelix, belonging to the unremarkable race of Talaxinas, proposed a solution to Captain Janeway’s problems. He told her the Trabe were bitter enemies of the Kazon. According to Neelix, the Kazon lived in terrible conditions on the Trabe homeworld, and were treated as sub-human by their masters, often employed as slave labour. When the Kazon rebelled, the Trabe were exiled and that’s the reason they are attacking the Captain’s Arrays.

Now, Kazon still feel strong resentment if not hatred toward their former masters. If someone were to inform the Kazon of, say movement of the Trabe fleet, they would surely attack. So Neelix used his connections to inform the Kazon Hobii sect which was the strongest in the sector that the Trabe High Council convened on the newly captured Array and the Kazon raided the Array killing all members of the Council save its chairman GeoModder, who managed to escape miraculously. The raid left the Array in ruins, with the Trabe recently constructed shield generator destroyed.

Learning about the news, Kassiopeia relished in the success of her covert operation and started preparations for her own assault on the Array. But her plans were thwarted again. Out of nowhere assault ships appeared on the scanners. She had to fight a life and death struggle as the assailants gave no response to her hails.

Battle No. 1: Smiley attacks Kassiopeia
Smiley: 7FB, 1TF, OoB: FFT-TLL, back off, normal, fight to the death
    Kassiopeia: 3LB, 2FB, 2TB, OoB: LLF-TFT, close in, normal

    21F – 18L – Kassiopeia takes 3 hits
    21F – 18L – Kassiopeia takes 3 hits
    1T – 12F – Smiley takes 11 hits

Kassiopeia loses one laser battleship, while Smiley loses 1 carrier battleship and another one is damaged. Kassiopeia employs her nanoprobe weapons now, designed specifically for the species 8472.

    1T – 6T – Smiley takes 5 hits
    0L – 6F – Smiley takes 6 hits
    0L – 12T – Smiley takes 12 hits

Smiley loses 4 carrier battleships more and he is no match for Kassiopeia’s fleet. Fight to the death backfired. It ended in the total destruction of Smiley’s attacking fleet.

    *******

The Caretaker didn’t transport just Kassiopeia here. He also transported the last founder from the alpha quadrant just before the Dominion forces were destroyed there. The Dominion is the foremost power in the gamma quadrant, but their attempt at dominating the alpha quadrant failed when the lifeline wormhole that linked the two distant parts of the Galaxy collapsed capturing the Dominion governor DrSpike on the wrong side. His fleet was ultimately defeated and he ended up here, thanks to the Caretaker.

Now DrSpike craves to build order in the quadrant. Order in founder terms means a Dominion with founders on top, Vortas as their henchmen, Jam’Hadars as their mindless stormtroopers and all the rest (solids) as their servants.

But young Rizik II Jamski of the Kazon Ogla sect thought otherwise.

Battle No. 2: Jamski attacks DrSpike
Jamski: 5LB, OoB: LLF-TFT, close in, bunch together
    DrSpike: 5LB, 5FB, 4TB, 1LC, OoB: TLF-LTF, close in

The founder has been wary, however.

    60L – 48T – DrSpike takes 12 hits
    60L – 68L – Jamski takes 8 hits
    0F – 7.5F – Jamski takes 7 hits

DrSpike loses 2 torpedo battleships and Jamski loses 2 laser battleships.

0T – 68L – Jamski takes 68 hits and his entire fleet is destroyed. First Maje Rizik II is killed aboard one of the battleships. His younger brother Rizik III becomes the new Maje.

LL, you need to explain very clear now why my orders haven't been executed. I don't see anything in the ruleset that explains why I don't have an extra base and stuff.

I made a mistake. Sorry. You do have an extra base, but Kassi spied you and you don't have the shield.

Don't have the what? Isn't that a secret order that shouldn't be displayed?

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

It's not like it really matters, given that it wasn't actually executed...

All secret orders are secret and are not displayed unless they interact with the orders someone else sent in which case they are made public

                      Example:

                      GeoModder: Build shield!
Kassiopeia: Send a spy to stop GeoModder!

Result: Kassi's spy destroys Geo's shield. Two secret orders are displayed.

It was no luck. It was the genius of the Federation engineers that created nanoprobes

How long do we have until orders are due?
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.
