  • FG: Spy vs Spy

Anybody here remember that game? I just came on the idea of trying to make this into a forum game... I believe that should be possible...

The mission of the game is (like in the computer game) to find certain items to get your plane (or whatever) working so you can escape. These items are all over the place.
The map would be like the first game (the one with the house)

In each room there's several places for the items to hide, there's a max of one item per room

The game is turn based ( ). Each round all players say what they want to do, there's several options (Each option takes one turn):

    1) Plant a trap*
    2) Go to next room
    3) Search the room (and if item found, pick it up)

    *There's several trap options:

    1) Set an wire to the door, connected to a gun. When someone tries to open the door he looses 1 health points (for being shot at) and looses next turn (while he doesn't get into the room)
    2) Use the saw to make a huge hole in the floor (can't be used on lowest floor). When someone steps into this room there's 50% chance he don't see the hole and fall right through it. If this happens he looses a health point (for each level he goes down) and next turn. If it doesn't happen he knows about the hole, and can search the room without trouble

If two (or more) spy's are in the same room at the same time, they start fighting (me throws some dices). The winner gets one random item from the looser(s) (if they have one he doesn't have), while the looser(s) gets one health reduced and misses the next turn.

Each player has 6 health (or to be discussed), and has to collect 5 items (depending on the size of the map and number of players)
When a player has no health left, he's out of the game

Is there any interest for this game? I'll mod the first game, unless someone else wants to do it

mad was a humor magazine, featuring topical humor, movie and tv satires, cartoons, etc. though some of what was in it was pretty sophisticated, its major audience was young teens, i think. At some point one graduated to National lampoon. every month they did spy vs spy, a wordless cartoon about a black spy and a white spy, each with identical very sparse features, who tried to kill each other in clever ways with usually IIRC a twist in the final panel.

Yeah - the computer game was based around the two characters.
          Moby Games gives us this:

M.A.D. magazine’s comic strip of the same name comes to life in this Nintendo game which was designed for one or two players. The innovative split-screen shows both spies at the same time. Play with a friend or against the machine.

The black crow and the white crow are out to beat each other before the time bell rings. Find the needed objects by digging through drawers, closets and furniture in the house. Foil your opponent by setting creative booby traps in the various rooms (a bomb in a dresser drawer, for instance).

Fights ensue when both spies enter the same room. Find hidden weapons in the rooms to help with those fights, since one of you will die if you run into each other.

The game rocked. Sorry, I didn't read your FG rules.

I liked Spy vs Spy, it was my one of my favourite Nintendo games.

I doubt I will be committed enough to enter a forum game though.

Make a metaspam forum game and he'll be right there.

Some form of "spot the spammer competition".

Would probably more game-worthy to play "Spot the non-spammer".
