If you let us know in advance that you will be late with orders, we will wait, but no that does not mean you get extra time, you'll only get it if you specifically ask for it and have a good reason.

Turn 5: "It's turning into World War III"

We had the normal city building and some of the empires became more technologically advanced. The chart and the map pretty much say it all.

          Trade:
          (4)Muxec to Whoha - 64
          (4)Whoha to Dark Cloud - 64
          (3)Smiley to Muxec - 48
          (3)Ljube-ljcvetko to Vlad Antlerkov - 27
          (4)Sparrowhawk to Jonny - 64
          (4)Dark Cloud to Whoha - 64

          Wonder Building
Young Sparrowhawk got his Jihad on. Apparently, no one is interested in the Silk Road or the Mafia at this point.

          Gifts
Whoha gives DC 10 freshly minted armies.
Vlad Antlerkov gives Architecture and Geography to Ljube-ljcvetko.
Young Sparrowhawk shows Jonny the ways of Geography and Religion.
Dark Cloud gives Espionage to Whoha.

          Wars
          "The Saga Continues"

The Dark Cloud/Ljube-ljcvetko war rages on. This time Ljube-ljcvetko counterattacks with 32 (tech 5) armies and Dark Cloud stays home to defend with his 10 (tech 7) armies. Wow, I'm even surprised when I did the math.
Dark Cloud makes a successful defence of his cities and Ljube-ljcvetko lost two armies in the attack.

Sneaky young Sparrowhawk uses his newfound powers of Jihad and 16 (tech 6) to attack Whoha's 1 (tech 7) army and managed to take only one of his cities. Both Sparrowhawk and Whoha lose one army each.

This shows that not only do you need a large army to attack, but having a technological edge also helps. Especially for the defender since his technology is in the formula twice.

          Governments:
Are now shown on the chart.
          Jonny revolted to Monarchy

          Wonders:
          Gambecube64 - G11 - Tower of Babel
          Smiley - K2 - Colosseum
          Vlad Antlerkov - K11 - Trojan Horse
          Gamecube64 - G10 - Acropolis
          Sparrowhawk - B6 - Jihad

          Tech prices:
Religion (tech 6) is now 14 gold
Espionage (tech 7) is now 35 gold
Industrialization (tech 8) is still 84 gold.
Representative Government is still 136 gold.
Mass Education is still 220 gold.

          Wars
          Dark Cloud versus Ljube-ljcvetko
          Sparrowhawk versus Whoha

          Misc.
A number of empires have now discovered espionage. Their spys will be available next turn, that is, the turn after you dicover the tech or build the wonder.

Also to note that this is a very difficult game to process.

I'd like to process Sun night. I'll be in training classes all next week, so it might be tough for me to do it.

Quite a few wars already... The greater number of players is good, it allows for things to get interesting without becoming unbalancing.

I suspect the next innovation might be allied wars... do we have something worked out for how those will go?

Not sure how much difference it would make, but my tech was actually at 6, not 5 (as correctly stated in your table). But wow!! 16 armies versus 1 and I only took one city and we both lost one army!! I should have checked the math before attacking I guess!

                        • Okay, edited my post to reflect Sparrowhawk's tech level...almost changed the cities taken. The round down still got you though.

Also added 64 gold to Whoha to reflect DC's caravans which I missed somehow.

I'm finding the cooperation in this game refreshing.

                          • I picture the battle between Whoha and my armies in my head....

A collosal battle occured today between the massed forces of Sparrowhawk and the 16 divisions he sent against Whoha's 1 division which was spread thinly through his 7 cities. General Whoha smartly brought his army together to defend the front, and they all valiantly battled the inferior forces of Sparrowhawk. In the end, the greater numbers of Sparrowhawk won out, taking the city where the Evil forces were massed, and destroying all the defending army, losing an army of their own in the process. The battle so drained the armies of Sparrowhawk that they were unable to continue to attack the remaining 6 undefended cities of Whoha and had to stop their conquest at 1 lone city.

Laggards. Might have to find a new general to spur the troops on after defeating their enemies in the future.

I think we've had that before

All the cooperation is interesting indeed.
