My friend has got this for Xbox, and we'd like to know where we can find that trader who has loads of cash and buys everything from you. He's got two swords worth 15000 each, but none of the ordinary shops have enough cash to buy them from you.

And those dinosaur bird things are really annoying. You're just walking along and every three yards they'll try to dive on you. It can make it a bit tedious to just walk around between towns.
Have you any recommendations at to which house to join? I think he's trying to get in with Hlaalu, and has expressed an interest in the Morag Tong too. He's only level 12 or so, so still has a long way (and many hours play) to go.

and does anyone know what bound longsword does? I never did figure that out. I got rid of my katana that was a bound weapon anyways. I could never figure out what it did for me.

Bound weapon = give you a daedric weapon of that class, which has 0 weight and raise your skill for the weapon of that class by 10 while it lasts.

It's all right - disappointed with the response to my query, I looked elsewhere and found the approximate location of the trader.
Any other general hints would be nice though.

Seeing how you want to know about great houses... it really depends on the character. Generally, house Hlaalu is for thieves, Redoran for warriors and Telvanni for wizards. However, they have more than that, they have styles. Hlaalu has great influence, and will use thievery, killing and whatever they find suitable for achieving their political and such goals. Redoran is a noble house, they help people and maintain order. They don't cut deals with criminals or the like. Telvanni are rather crazy, mostly, they mind their own business and there are plenty of surprises with them. Always good quest rewards, too.

I'm starting to play this game again (didn't get very far last time, I bought BG2 at the same time). I always play roll playing games as a Jack of all trades if possible. Does this make Morrowind especially hard?

What schools of Magic would you recommend, considering I'd have a decent fighter? So I don't think I'd specialize in Destruction. I'm thinking Restoration, Conjuration(minions), Alteration (levitate).

Should I bother in Specializing in more then one weapon class. Are there alot of creatures who are well protected against slashing damage. Is their slashing vs. Blunt damage? How about ranged weapons? any good?

              Solver or any one else:

You mentioned plug ins which keep the game challenging in the later stages. Do you remember any of their names? Any Plugins any one would recommend?
I'm correct in assuming that you can add most of them later without restarting the game?

And what I meant above is after next level, all but 2 of my stats will be maxed. But you have to add to 3 stats when you level up. Will that cause problems?
Rather than levelling up 3 stats when you gain a level, you only level up 2 stats as the others are already at 100.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

                  Thanks Solver.
Well my friend's character is a pretty roguish individual already so Hlaalu is ideal for him. Mind you, I know it's a vagary of the game, but having a rogue sneaking around in full plate armour is a bit strange.

MH: I think that the whole point of Morrowind is that it is an ideal game for a jack-of-all-trades. In fact, only the lower-level characters are different, because once you get far enough then you're a killing machine with a good selection of magic and high rogue skills.

I never joined a house this game. Just doing the fighters guild and mages guild quest is enough for fill up an entire game! I'm already maxed out on levels almost (I have very few skills I can easily raise now).

Next game I may do imperial cult, maybe one of those houses along with the main quest.

I think I read that the weight of the boots affects sneaking for rogues. But other than that, I think they can wear as much armour as they want.

Even mages can. This is both good, and bad.

If you can train a skill do get the 5 X's on your strength, you can get your strength up to 100, and have no problem weilding heavy armour.

But I think I'll go with light armour next game (I'm playing a thief- who's also has good personality, mercantile- a smooth talker type). I won't be doing any magic at all. Aside from magical weapons.

That's the thing about this game, with enchanted weapons (you find or buy), what do you need magic for?

Restoration just doesn't seem like it's needed all that much.

Mysticism and Alteration seem pretty cool.

I still haven't finished the game (classes and such), but I haven't found really any monsters that don't go down to my long blade. Physical damage seems to work very well. But you may find monsters immune/resistant to certain elemental damage (mostly fire)

Enchant is basically about the best skill in the game (Well unless you take the route of the Tassadarian cult and abuse the alchemy stacking bug) as your skill level affects the point cost required for a particular enchantment.

Mysticism is extremely useful for both soul trap and absorb health (for which very few entities have any resistance).

Mercantile is still bugged AFAIK. It'll reduce what you pay for items but then do the same when you're trying to sell items too (and most characters tend to do a lot more of the latter).

It's also rather handy to have a major/minor skill that's dependent upon each of your attributes.

One of the best skills you can train in early would be medium/heavy armour (both endurance-based skills - for the x5 multiplier) so that you get more HP per level right from the start.

I was going to ask about that.

I take it the HP gain is not retroactive then when increasing endurance. nevertheless, my fighter in my current game has like 300 hit points. It may be even more (I rarely check for some reason)

I may have to rethink my theif build (I use the custom class). I doubt most of my minor/major skills cover all my attributes. But you can always triain in the misc. skills and still get the 5 X multiplier. I plan on stealing so much, my thief will have plenty of money .

                              Thanks for the advice:b

Gotta go figure out a character I'll actually stick with now.

Yeah I always try to start with a relatively high strength and endurance when creating a character. Not sure if chosing the lady as a sign is the best idea but focusing on endurance for the first ten levels or so definitly gives you more HP in the long run. Not that that matters after a certain point when you get good items....

I always chose luck as a major attribute at the begginning so it takes ten levels off putting points into it.
