An alternative to levitate for getting to the Urshilaku Camp is to waterwalk around the coast from Khuul. You can make the potions from kwama scuttles and violet coprinus.
After doing it the first time, I always just teleported. I set my teleportation point to the Urshilaku Camp and then just teleoported there whenever I needed to.
I could use Divine Intervention to get from there to Fort Darius any time I needed to use quick transit to the civilized areas and then could just teleoport back to the Urshilaku Camp once my business in civilization was done.
The teleportation spells that come with getting ranks in the Mysticism skill are a HUGE time saver.

he's fast. The only way I could outrun him is with adrenaline rush. Which only lasts for 60 seconds.
I would summon my Frost, Storm and Fire Atronachs, a handful of other creatures, then levitate and hit him with magic attacks.
Although by the time my character reached him, I probably could have dealt with him quite easily with my sword anyway. I was just trying to RP as a Mage/Necromancer.
Yup, soldiers are weaklings . My mage can easily select some spells among his dozens that will make short work of Umbra. A Summon Flame Atronach + Summon Bonewalker, and a big damage spell or Paralysis.
Mages are great. If there's a very tough fight, use a stealth spell, like Chameleon 90%. Or fly up and kill the target.

You can't have more than one summon spell active at a time but you could, for example, create a spell to summon more than one creature at a time (only one of any particular sort though) and you can always enchant items with summon spells. Different items will stack so you could have quite a few minions running around.
If you join up with house Telvanni you receive an item for completing one of the quests that will summon one of each of the three atronachs simultaneously for a minute or so, with enough charges to use it several times in a row.

I had some fire astronach spells, I didn't think to use them. I was using lower level summoning spells like skeleton minion or someting like that.
can you summon more than one monster at once? I tried that, but it didn't seem to work.
You can't summon more than one of the same monster at once - eg, you can't have 3 Bonewalkers summoned at the same time. You can, however, have a Bonewalker, a Frost Atronach, a Fire Atronach, a Storm Atronach, a Ghost, etc all fighting with you.
I got this awesome amulet from Trebonius. And I'm now an arch-mage. I cleaned this guy up in the arena. It's a necromancer amulet. I have nothing against necromancy . And I found another ring that has protection against normal weapons. Pretty much nothing touches me now.
Of course now things are almost too easy. I was doing this one fighters guild quest and these stupid cliff racers kept bothering me. There are far too many of those annoying creatures. they pose no threat, but are annoying.
I'm done with mages guild I think. I can no longer go up in rank. I'll finish up fighters guild then finish up the main quest. I'm at the 3rd trial in the main quest now.
And I'm level 45 now btw. All my stats are maxes except for intelligence (now at 96), personality, and luck.
What happens if I max out intelligence, and can only put points into 2 attributes at level up? Will that break the game? I'm worried about that. I'll stop training in intelligence then. And just raise it up 1 at a time. I'm getting to the point now, going up in levels is damn hard. I doubt I'll go up a few more levels in this game. The only thing I can raise is my blocking (now at 92 I think), destruction (at 92), and things like security (very hard to raise- I haven't found anyone to train me in this skill since I'm not part of thieves guild), and athletics (very slow to raise this). I also have things like axe, alteration, and enchant as minor skills, but I don't use those much. and they are all above 50 (haven't found any master trainers)

You can summon two monsters of the same type at the same time, I think. Use a spell to summon one and an enchanted item to summon another - IIRC, both stay then.
Luck is an attribute you may want to raise early and may want not to. Some people put a point on it after each level.
Skills, hmm, I typically have most skills very low. For instance, as a mage, my skills with all weapons except blunt weapons, armorer, sneak, security and the like are under 10.

Here's a hint: Start levelling luck early on so you can get maxed that much faster.
how so?
And what I meant above is after next level, all but 2 of my stats will be maxed. But you have to add to 3 stats when you level up. Will that cause problems?
well I thought I was almost finished. It took a while to do those great houst quests to get them to make me hortator or whatever you spell it.
I'm done with all that and the Vivec business. Afterwords I did go back and check a the UESP. I heard you can kill Vivec! Has anyone did that? Is it even possible without a hacked up uber character?
one other thing. 2 handed vs. 1 handed. What are your thoughts?
given that armour rating does seem to be kind of worthless, I was concentrating on blocking- which does work. But I still get clobbered in big fights. When I equip my two hander I can just kill things faster- and that seems to work for me. I have gotten rid of my one handed sword (weight problems with all that ebony armour). I'll probably stick with the two hander daedric katana thingy.
I still need to enchant that sword though. What's a good enchantment to get? I can't figure out what's good or not.
and does anyone know what bound longsword does? I never did figure that out. I got rid of my katana that was a bound weapon anyways. I could never figure out what it did for me.

1-handed and shield. Block is worth more than the extra damage IMO.
The only problem is that most of the big special weapons are all 2-handed (Ice Blade of the Monarch, especially).
