in Vivec . There are multiple locations. The easiest one is in the rare book store in the foreign quarter (middle level I believe). This is where I got mine. This is the same area where you talked to the one operative in relation to the quest for Caius.

I meant the comment more from a roleplaying standpoint. It should be noted that a number of the guilds' quest lines are mutually incompatable with one another. I know the Fighters Guild and Thieves Guild are (along with a few others). It's also true that joining some factions can make joining others highly difficult, though I don't think impossible (Cult and Temple, for instance). You also can't join more than one of the three native houses unless you use an exploit that opens up with the series of quests to make you Hortator. Of course, concerning opposed factions; having maxed out Personality and Speechcraft breaks many of the RP elements of the game.
I'm not where near maxed out stats!

Though I finally did max out long blade. I sometimes use a short blade (this really cool dagger I found that sells for 10000). But I suck with it. It's a minor skill, and it doesn't go up real fast

My personality still sucks. Most of my other attributes are are around 50 or 60.

I'm level 16 now I believe. What level do I have to be to finish the game?

I'm pretty tough. Though there are times I encounter tough battles. There was this shrine up near. Khuul.

I didn't die, but the one guy who appears when you pick up the emerald sitting on a table was pretty tough.

Right now I'm trying to get to the Urshilaku camp. Any advice on how to get there?

I actually did get to the oustkirts by sea. I swam from Khuul . But I had blight disease and no way to cure it, so i used a divine intervention to get back to a temple. So now I have to go back

Actually, no. The Fighters Guild and Thieves Guild quests are not mutually exclusive. Well, if they are someone forget to mention it to my game as I am the leader of both guilds.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

They are compatable up to a certain point. IIRC, there's a point at which the Fighters Guild wants you to kill a Thieves' Guild leader... an action that would get you booted out of the Thieves' Guild. IIRC, the Thieves Guild also has a quest that will get you booted out of the Fighters' Guild.

There may be a way to use some cheesy exploit to get around it (entirely possible), but I remember from reading walkthroughs that the INTENTION was for you to have to choose between them.

There nothing cheesy about it. Played the right way the Fighters and the Thieves are very compatible.

If you pay attention to your Fighters Guild quest givers you will notice there are actually two factions in the Fighters guild. One, there is Percy in Ald Ruhn (the old guild master) and Hrundi in Wolverine Hall and two: Eydis in Balmora and the orc and Sjoring in Vivec. The second group wants to join forces with the Camonna Tong.

Talking to Percy about your Balmora and Vives quests you will learn he has often second thoughts about their quest, up to the point where you get the kill-the-thieves-guildmaster quest when he actually says you shouldn't do it. Percy's own last quest is to kill Sjoring Hard Heart which is actually the very same quest as your last Thieves quest.

The only possible problem you'll encounter before that is Eydis Fire Eyes code book quest.

If you steal to code book (which contains important camonna tong info btw.) before joining the Thieves you wont be able to join them ever again (dissidents position I suppose). The trick is to simply avoid this quest until you get a thieves quest to bring eydis over to the other side. At that point Eydis will drop the code book thing and you'll be able to complete her remaining quests.

Ah, you're right. My memory on it was fuzzy because it's been a long time since I played the game or read the walkthroughs and my own experience includes the Thieves' Guild quests, but not the Fighters' Guid quests.

yeah I know where it is on the map .

I ended up walking from Maar Gan. I had to cross a copule of mountain ranges, but I got there.

I'm not in those crypts or whatever that they tell me to get some bow. Some areas are hard to get to.

I still don't have levitate. Anyone know where I can find that spell?

and does anyone know how you can read books and things that are already in your inventory? Maybe one of these days I should reread the instruction manual . I can't remember some things. I read the keyboard commands in-game, but that doesn't seem to help me.

And is there an easier way to use items in your inventory?

The easiest way to have tons of free levitation is to play through the Imperial Cult quests (or, alternatively, just loot the same dungeon they send you on a quest into). The quest rewards you by finding boots of levitation down in its depths. I recall that I fought a whole lot of Daedhra (sp?) getting there and met an avatar of the Imperial goddess or healing (forget her name) or whatever (IIRC).

Tough quest, but the boots of levitation are definately worth the trouble.

                        speaking of.

I got the boots of blinding speed. I heard they were really cool.

the main problem is putting them on makes me blind . It's hard to navigate that way.

when you're in that crypt and into light armor look for some glass items, the most expensive glass armor is found for free in main quest crypts/caves.

I think someone in the Balmora Mages Guild has one. If you don't have a good alteration skill let some spellmaker make a seven second levitate spell. You can get everywhere with that and you'll be able to cast it.

Drag the book onto your picture. Now that wasn't too hard, was it?

They are called the Boots of the Apostle, and they're not only handy with levitating but also have the best armor rating for boots while being light armor.

There's indeed some resistance but nothing a typical level 16 character can't handle. Like all over Morrowind

I think those boots are rubbish. If you're a Breton with 50% magica resistance maybe there're handy.

If you really want to walk quicker, get some constant effect restore fatigue enchantment, with that you can run all day and it isn't that hard to make.

(btw. doesn't anyone else think 'restore fatigue' sounds like an effect you wouldn't want to use? ' restore stamina' would be better I think? who wants their fatigue to be restored? )
