I hope to. I would have joined this one except that I've had almost no 'net access for weeks...
Ho hum, have results but am suffering from writer's block I think. I'll put something together in a little while, don't worry.
And if Spaced sent another set of orders it wasn't to me.

“Hey, judge,” yelled the Doctor, “I thought you were supposed to be an impartial orator for the Games!”
“What? Of course I am!” replied Theben.
“Then what’s with that banner under your balcony that says, ‘KICK DOC’S ASS?!’”
“Oops.”
“. . .”

“Would you believe an international conspiracy of Ostragoths, Persians, and Greeks were attempting to sabotage the games by sowing distrust amongst the main participants?”
“no.”
“Would you believe that an insane grey elf with a penchant for mischief placed it there?”
“no.”
“How about I bet a lot and tried to influence the spread?”
“(grrrr…)”
The Doctor decided to take his anger out on Spacius, the only available target. With a lightning strike that was too much for Spacius’s scant defenses, he raked the edge of the shield across his rival’s torso and cut deep into muscle. Spacius returned the favor in the form of a quick jab that sliced the Doctor’s left leg, who was not even paying attention to defense.
The Doctor mistimed his blow and left himself off balance and open to counterattack, which Spacius took advantage of with another quick jab into his other leg.
Spacius connected yet a third time, but it was not enough as the Doctor slammed his shield into Spacius’s face and made him look just a little prettier.
Spacius lost 26 hit points, dropping to 79. The Doctor lost 24 hp’s, and is now at 85.
The Doctor widens his lead but by a fraction. Ready for Round 3!

Once again he charged headlong at Spacius; once again he disregarded his personal safety in order to concentrate on the attack. Spacius himself went forth to meet him, holding his shield in front showing some measure of defense. It wasn’t enough, as the teeth of Doc’s shield cut through Spacius’s and bit deeply into his arm and down his side. A powerful swipe by Spacius also connected, and the Doctor felt the sword dig into his gut.
The Doctor again had trouble regrouping from the assault, leading the speculators in the crowd to wonder whether it was due to fatigue or wounds, blood spoiling his grip, or just that the shield was so difficult to manage. In any event the result was that he did not immediately follow up his success, leaving him open to a quick counter. Fortunately for him Spacius was also disoriented from his new wounds and opted instead for a much more defensive stance.
The Doctor recovered and came around once more. Spacius held his ground, sword and shield (what was left of it) at the ready. As the Doc reached his enemy he swung the shield overhead in a high arc down upon Spacius, who at the same moment thrust forth both sword and shield, catching Doc’s shield between the spinning teeth and stopping it in mid-air. The sheer force of the blow knocked Spacius to his knees, but he held firm. Reacting quickly, the Doctor slipped his hands off the handles and onto the top edge of the shield, pushing the weapon down onto his kneeling opponent, and for long moments the two were locked in place, in a titanic struggle with the other.
The Doctor gave a last surge of strength but in the end it was neither Doc nor Spacius who gave in but the sword, which unbeknownst to all had cracked when it blocked the spinning shield. The sword split in two and the teeth slipped off the damaged shield, down onto both of Spacius’s legs, perforating both to the bone and threatening to chop them off just above the knees. The blow sent Spacius into the sands, reeling.
Spacius lost 38 hit points, dropping to 41. The Doctor lost 14 hp’s, and is now at 71.
A 30 hit point difference now, and things aren’t looking good for Spaced. Yet the Doctor isn’t completely in the clear. Round 4 is next.

Hmmm. When's the last time 3 rounds of a final got onto one page? Depending on what's next, we could start and finish the final on this page!

“Damnit, I need a weapon!” cried Spacius, looking alternately between Doc and his broken sword.
“Here, catch.” He turned around and saw a spear being lobbed at him. He dropped his sword, snatched the spear out of the air, and then looked to see who threw it, but couldn’t find the source. The Doctor also sensed someone else was with them in the arena (aside from the armored goons), but couldn’t locate him.
Now armed with a spear, Spacius decided to go on the offensive. A powerful if inaccurate thrust impacted on the Doctor’s shield, but did no harm, as he was in full defensive mode. A second thrust by Spaced yielded similar results.
After the second time the Doctor grabbed the shaft of the spear and pulled it towards him, yanking Spacius off-balance. He then shoved it back at Spacius and smacked him hard in the face with the haft, tearing his cheek open and cracking a tooth. Spacius then wrested the spear back from the Doctor, who didn’t seem to want it anymore anyway.
Spacius lost 9 hit points while the Doctor lost none. He still has 71 hps to Spaced’s 32.
Round 5!

Sorry I didn't get around to this. I see SC has been busy also. Please extend until tomorrow evening, as I'm straight off to bed now, and I need time to figure out SC's next move.
