    • I've been meaning to get this game due to raves I've heard about this one. Is it fairly easy to find in stores? I don't recall seeing any copies.

Actually Deus Ex 2 was written for the Xbox and PC simultaneously.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

        • That's really a semantic issue since if you are doing things simultaniously, you have to conform to the lowest common denominator.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

          • Good stuff! Lockpicking really really helps, 150% increase in efficiency.
            Spoiler:
I have a feeling that bro doesn't like me though... I was practically on top of some NSF that surrendered when I heard them talking about how John had ordered boobytraps to stop "him". Good stuff. Not very good at non-lethal takedowns though... those tranq darts seem to take forever to take effect leaving plenty of time for the enemy to come attack me.

              • Re: Tranqs - Skanky is correct. They're best used in areas where you have lots of room to run away - sneak around a corner, hit somebody, then run away again. Your target should collapse before they reach you. If there's no room to run, you may be better off using the Riot Prod - sneak up behind someone, and you can take them down in one blow (usually).

                • is this game that good? should I get it?

first of all, let me get the required questions out of the way.

Is it a rpg? tbs? shooter or rts? Only the first two of that list do I play regularly. Can the game be paused? Although this isn't as critical as it used to be for me (I've become used to not pausing in mmorpg's for example), it's still nice to have.

                  • Yes. Immediately. It should be fairly cheap - I saw it at my local EB a while ago for only $10 (Australian dollars, no less).

                    • 1) It's something of a cross between an RPG and an FPS; it has the character-improvement elements of an RPG (you improve your skills, customise your weapons, and cybernetically augment yourself as the game goes on), while being played from a first-person perspective.

                      2) Yes, it can be paused, using either ESC (main menu) or by going to the Inventory screen.

Never played Thief either. How is this game?

They expected roughly 90% of revenue to come from the xbox version of the game, hence the game was written with a major focus on the xbox and the game was heavily optimised for the xbox. Both versions were, however, written at the same time.

Well, lets just say its my favourite game ever. Its a first-person sneaker. In most games you get more powerful as the game goes on, such that in Deus Ex you can shrug off a direct rocket hit and a few seconds later be fully healed again. Not so in Thief. In the final mission, a strong breeze will be able to kill you.

If you do see it or even Thief 2, make sure to grab it immediately. It should be at a bargain price and even now is a highly polished game. The graphics may look a tad dated compared to Doom 3 or such, but the gameplay is unsurpassed.

                          • TNT

I was off exploring, minding my own business, and I decided to take some TNT crates off of some cardboard boxes to check out their contents safely. Being my usual stupid self I placed them by the door, and jumped on top to be able to open the door. I pull... I boom...

                            Stupidest. Death. Ever.
