Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Very well, I'll knock that rattling skull of your boney ass (when i get around to it)
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.
Too bad I wasn't able to hang around... although I havea feeling that game would last longer then the 50 turn limit anyways. I don;t know what it was like in the south, but it was a stalemate up north.
I suggest that in the future we limit it to apolyton members so we don't have any flakes droping out without warning, and we can save and continue if need be. Also no more than 3 people on a 30x30 map, or 2 people on a 20x20 map (or maybe 25x25...)
The 2nd match went a little better for me in the end. The general and I both had ours full. After a failed invasion into the elven heartland I had to regroup in the mountains with my remaining forces (a wolfrider and young troll). Luckily the elves didn't pursue me but focused their attention on the center of the map. My brave little orcish archer gave them as good it gets, and more!
After awhile I decided on a new invasion. This one further south via the mountains. I launched another sneak attack with my wolf rider and my troll and disctracted the elves long enough for my main force to arrive.

This was the end result after my 2nd invasion. The elves threw all their reserves into the battle including their leader. They pushed me back to the village i captured earlier.
But by then my wolfrider got promoted (4-8)...and....reinforcements... were on their way....

Actually, the situation in the south was turning to my full advantage. The elves had basically lost all their reserves. By turn 25 I think the southern elves would be out of the race. Next time I'll try to generate a map with a bit less forest.
I did take a venture into the north with a wolfrider but got attacked by these walking trees. That was the end of my northern adventure but my plan for the SW worked out in the end. Any pics by any chance?

MP is indeed great fun. We should get an Apolyton group going. but I do think the maps could be a slight tad bigger. Maybe 30-35 for 3?

Ah, no pictures. I meant to save a replay so I could grab some but either I didn't get the option to or I cancled it out of reflex.
But anyways, I was basically fighting skirmishes with elves through the whole game, gaining a bit of ground perhaps but extremely slowly. Only a few turns into the game an advance party from the north western elves showed up at my front gate, but I turned them back by bringing out my necromancer and a skeleton archer. However this meant I had to give up the towns in the forest to him, because there's no realistic way I could fight my way through that forest. So I put together a force to take the long way around, following the road through the center of the map and around the forest.
But after going through the mountain pass I get into another skirmish, only this time with the south western elves who are taking the towns that are in the central forest. (which i had claimed early with ghosts) so I end up geting bogged down there, untill his attention was drawn away by CapTVK, at which point I quickly reclaim all the towns and head off to the north western stronghold. I take a few towns easily and find the elf lord just hanging around in the forest with only one fighter for protection - seeing this I attack with an adept a soldier and an archer... but only get a single hit in. The next turn 4 woses come out of the woods (they're stealthed while in forest) and retake all the towns I captured and surround me. I knew then that my army was dead, and I tried to retreat. Only a single skeleton soldier got out of it 'alive', and I sent him back towards the mountain pass to meat up with my second army consisting of 2 archers an adept and two soldiers. But I had to leave the game at this point, unfortunetly.
Presumably my second army would of either met up with the chasing woses in the central plain and be able to kill them off easily, or the woses would of headed south and given CapTVK a nightmare, and me an easy shot at the elf lord.
My goal was to take control of the north half of the map, and then draw my attention on whoever I thought was strongest in the south.
A wose is an ent, by the way - a walking tree that is tough as ****, but with no range attack and poor defense.
Sounds like you had quite a fight on your hand there General Ludd!
The replays are stored within the savegame. If you load a save you can check the replay option to watch every turn. The savegame replay only shows your own actions. I suppose that the end-of-game replay shows the turns of all the players.

Necromancer Ludd summons his minions and sends them off to ravage the country side...
But wait, the elves are coming through the forest!
And at the same time the advance party spots another elf on the other side of the mountain pass.
Ludd steps out of his castle to scare away the elves, and they promptly turn tail and run. Meanwhile the advance party engages the other elf.
[this is when I said 'blah!" by the way, after the final attacker didn't get a single hit in and the elf survived with a sliver of health.
They deal with the elf quickly enough... but as they cross the central plains elvish riders storm out of the forest and ambush the advance party. The adept flees back to the safety of town, but is only delaying his inevtiable death... there is no out running the elves.
I got bored of watching the replay at this point... maybe i'll continue the picture story later.
I want run the binary, my computer says it is corrupted *cries*. Ive downloaded it a couple times, and even an older windows version. hmmm maybe the one posted there will work! Anyone of you who played it have 98? maybe it is uncampatible...

I'll be at Wesnoth server if you want another round or continue the present one. Could be a very nice 1-on-1 in a couple of turns.

The problem was, Internet explorer was cutting the DL off half-way through, so Dave (lead developer) told me to download it with Mozilla, and it works! YAY! I'll gladly play in a FFA if you have another one, but for now I'm off to single player.
Well, 2nd game this week. Again 4 player match this time as a team Drakes and Ocrs (me) vs. Undead and Elves in the south. The drakes mostly have flying units, capture some cities in quick succession and made a move towards the undead in the south. However Ludd had managed to get some adepts (cold blast) in positions and they were shot out of the sky like flies.
Spoiler:
lesson: Drakes are very vulnerable to cold attacks
As for the orcs, I went round a mountain pass and took a few villages in the forest south of me. I marshalled my forces in the center of the map but the elves got the better of me. Did manage to promote some wolfriders though and learned that orc assassins are pretty decent in the forest with their poisonblade attacks against elven archers.
Spoiler:
lesson: if you have orcs and you have to face elves in the forest use assassins
The map was allotted with a fair amount of forest so the elves managed to capture cities quite fast. Ultimately numbers did me in.
