Build your secondary stats.
Fight people with bad w/l ratios first. When you build up a good W/L record noone will touch you. I have been attacked only once, and have attacked others 100+ times.

Get the house, barbed-wire fence, white picket fence and scarecrow. Bouqets are nice too.

Get drunk before PvP-ing. 19 drunkenness (w/ liver of steel) is preferred.

PvP-ing gets me an average of 25 stat gains (each stat).
