Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Regarding the project I will have more time during the summer so do not worry about it. It would help much more if I had moderator's privileges for this forum but that is not up to you
Keygen: How goes the possibility of setting up a CVS server?

I will have a dedicated server this or next week if everything goes right. I've put some money in the bank for that purpose but I don't own a credit card. I do own a debit card, otherwise I plan to pay with a check. I estimate to have a CVS server set in a day and a bug tracking system in 2-4 weeks. I have found a hosting company and I am about to send an email for some details. I'll let you know of the result.
I sent an email last Monday at iPowerWeb with some questions regarding the dedicated server plans they offer in order to decide if they suit me and I haven't received an answer yet. I will try this Mondey again and possibly a couple more companies. As soon as I get a decent reply that will satisfy me I will rent the server and setup a CVS server so we can work on the code more efficiently.
If you can recommend a good hosting company, anyone, let me know.

What is required to host a CVS Server? I have 7x10MB of unused "WebSpace" (which is free with my internet connection) which you can easily FTP files to and from, but I am guessing that is not what you are looking for...
Flinx, thanks for the offer but you guessed well
Shared hosting does not offer much controll on what you can install or not. I don't think a CVS server can be installed either, and for that purpose a dedicated server seems to be the only way.
A second email was sent today to iPowerWeb directly to the sales department email address, bypassing the form submission method. This time I received an automated reply confirming that my email was delivered and with a note that I'll get an answer within 24 hours. I only hope I get a decent answer since my questions were many
I also sent an email to another hosting company, Hostcentric.
I wonder wich company is hosting Apolyton. It runs in a dedicated server if I'm not mistaken so it would be interesting, in case they offer a good package and Apolyton is a proven case.
I received an adequate answer two days ago from iPowerWeb and another one yesterday from hostcentric. I ordered a dedicated server at iPowerWeb, less than an hour ago since they seem to have a good reputation and they provide the cheapest dedicated server solutions I could find. I didn't go for the cheapest one however, but for a more expensive plan, at $69 per month for a minimum of three month commitment and $49 setup fee. The server specs are: AMD Athlon XP 2000+, 512 MB DDR RAM, 60GB hdd, 600 GB bandwidth. I will have to wait for the transaction to complete and the iPowerWeb stuff to setup the server. It will be self-managed meaning that the only software that will be pre-installed it will be the OS (Linux) and everything else will have to be installed by me, remotely.

Only as a reminder. Isn't the EULA not forbidding it?
Even in our own FAQ we say so.
4) Where can I get the source code? And how can I view it?
The code can be downloaded right here from Apolyton, get it here. It's an 8 MB file. It's an executable: double-click and it will extract the files. But before it does so, it will first show you a user agreement: this is the screen where you usually just click 'I agree' and continue. However, in this case I highly recommend you read it carefully! At least parts of it are not your standard legal disclaimer but were written specifically for this source code and detail what you are and aren't allowed to do with it. Anyway, after you agreed to the End User License Agreement (EULA) about 2650 files and 200 folders are extracted to the folder you specified. Most of these files can be viewed them by opening them in any text editor (e.g. Notepad or Word).
Update (2003-11-6): A zip version of the source code is now also available for download: http://apolyton.net/csd.php?http://.../ctp2source.zip Note that if you want to link/redistribute this zip file elsewhere, you must ensure that anyone must agree to the EULA before being able to gain access to the files.

Well you have to make sure that at every download the EULA must be accepted, if it cannot be done like this, then it is not allowed.
So downloading any piece of source via this forum that is put into your personal Apolyton web space or put into any other webspace you controll is ok, but if you download an attachment from this forum you violate the EULA, because you are not asked to agree to it.

I am afraid, that with setting up a CVS-server we will violate the EULA. (And thanks for reminding me the exact way )
But about the attachment:
No, because:
If you decide to make available the use of the New Game Materials created by you to other gamers, you agree to do so solely without charge.
As we do it for free and it is New Game Material, it is OK. (or at least shall be, otherwise everyone would have do it it himself )
Gilg, the CVS server will be setup per our demand and if I am not mistaken, with the blessings of Apolyton or at list Locutus'. In a way it will be an extention to the forums. And if I remember correctly Locutus had asked Activision if a CVS server could be setup in a location other than Apolyton and they gave their permission as long as people that have access to it agree to the terms of the EULA.
Regarding the dedicated server I received an email a week ago asking to send a photocopy of my debit card and id with a fax. I had to email them again to verify that this is the procedure. The verification was made but the fax number did not include the US code so I had to email them again. It took them several days to reply to me with the same number they had originally sent me
I don't know the US number but when I try to send a fax to the number they sent me it does not appear valid. The number is: (310) 314-1610
I guess I will have to do a search to find it myself
BTW, I moved into a new house wich caused me some signifficant delays.
