I agree, Immortal Wombat has not read it!

My too! Never thought it would happen

Just took my first peak through the code. Looks nice, although A LOT of code can be improved using more modern libraries. Well well, I have an exam tomorrow so I have to stop staring at the monitor. But rest assured, I will be back tomorrow, ready to sink my teeth into this.
So much to do in so little time...

I wonder if we're allowed to use the SLIC script engine in non-CTP projects?

I'm thinking not. From the EULA:

New Game Materials may be created only if such New Game Materials can be used exclusively in combination with the retail version of Call to Power II. New Game Materials may not be designed to be used as a stand-alone product.

But the script engine isn't a "stand-alone product" or a "New Game Material". I suppose it would depend on what they term "New Game Material".

Though I think you're right, an Activision lawyer isn't going to see it that way.

Exactly... But still, SLIC isn't all that mindblowingly spectacular (from a developer's point of view, anyway). Just a little yacc-generated scripting language. I haven't seen the details yet, but I'm guessing it's all pretty much standard stuff...

                              Wow!

                              Neat!

                              Really neat!

Ever since it was announced that the CTP2 source was going to be released, I've been trying to learn C++ and browsing open source code. Maybe it's just because I'm more familiar with this project, but (as Jimi Hendrix said when questioned about his rendition of 'The Star Spangled Banner' at Woodstock) "I think it's beautiful."

If you want a scripting engine for another project, I'll write one for you, so long as you don't mind me doing it in C# .
