It was a choke point, but the Spartans were overwhelmed once the locals sold out the location of the passes to the Persians, and the Greeks were engulfed.
Point being that the Greeks did not exert a invisible ZOC that prevented the Persians from walking around the Greeks and then using those passes to engulf the Greeks.
However, as I stated above in this thread, it is getting a little long in the tooth and I question how much more could or should be done with it after AOM, which I am enjoying.

). In some other cases I have "ClearOrders" in, it seems to help the AI and it doesn't cause any lags.
. I am also not a beta tester, particularly when I know I have right now what looks like a perfectly running copy of AOM III.
