I would like a Multiplayer game...

Hi eveyone, been a long time since ive played this game as just not had the time for many months.

Im at home for a while as have a broken arm, wondered if anyone wants an online game.

Im available any day/time regardless of timezone though am based in UK.

Suggest maybe start a game tomorrow??? 10pm GMT?

Ive found someone to play

Need help regarding which online server/file we need?


Its been a while since ive played CTP2 online, wonder if one of you wise and wonderful people can re-assure me that there is still an online server to play on and if so which one?

Can you also attach or email me the appropriate servers file, if I recall correctly the last time I played about January/February this year the server was called nitro or turbo or something like that.

Basically I need the help of Maq or someone in the know.

Theres only one server left again it seems (at least just now when i looked), ive attached the servers.dat file that shows this one server.

Cheers Maq, would be good to catch up and have a game sometime assuming your still playing. Im well rusty still at the moment but its amazing how quick things come back.

I havent played in ages so i suppose ive stopped playing. Id probably only play a 2v2 now, since theyre a good laugh.

Who are you playing? I think i saw Toni posting in the civ4 MP forum a week or so ago.

Im playing someone called Steve that lives in the UK, he's fairly new to CTP2 and not played online before.

I'll try and tell/show him the strategy's to use, will be interesting to see how he gets on but guess even though ive not played I should still have a good chance of winning..

Is there anyway you can think of of handicapping the games?

I'll have a look round for Toni see what he's up to maybe he would like to play again in the future and we could get a 4th for an old timers rematch.

Ive been really busy this year, my years sort of go in cycles i.e. I dont play games much in the summer months.

What are you playing these days? Civ4? I was tempted to get it but hated Civ3 so much ive gone off the Civ series completely.

Turn handicapping on and give him twice as many settlers and gold to start with, at least if i remember right thats how it works.

Im not playing anything online at the moment, Civ4 i wont yet since it runs a bit slow for online play on my aging PC.

Which folder do I install/swap the servers.dat? sorry I cant rememeber, going to search through threads but if you/anyone can help please post here..

Oh no, it doesnt give the specific folder location where the original servers file is..

I think I was confused as was expecting to get a message saying 'do you wish to replace X' but guess as ive just reinstalled CTP2 there was no default servers file.

I shall try the lobby now..
