The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

I have three games going and could handle another if anyone wants to play, by far, I do for enjoyment, as not a master, just a person who has loved this game since I first played!
What mods do I need to play PBEM? I stopped playing when I went from '98 to XP because I couldn't even get the game to load but now I've gone to Vista it actually runs! However I have none of the patches and it's been so many years since I even played solo I cannot remember which official, or unofficial, mods and tweaks I had installed. I don't have the time for online but I used to love CTP PBEM and the AI is so poor there was never any challenge solo.
Check out the CTP Challenge Ladder thread--there is a sticky that keeps that thread on top because that is where most of the active players go to find people to play with. Any time you get a game going against someone, post it there and you can be added to the ladder. It keeps things interesting to see where you rank as compared to other players and it helps you find opponents who play at a similar level to yourself. It would be great to get some new blood in there since I've played against pretty much everyone on there at this point.

The official 1.2 patch can be found here. You don't need it if you have the Xplosiv edition though, as that comes already patched IIRC.
You don't need any other patches or mods to play a PBEM game, but if you want to start a PBEM game with some mods, you could install PBEM ModLite and the extra messages mod, both can be found in this zip file.

As it seems some people do play the game still are there any folks who would be prepared to play someone who hasn't played PBEM for 3yrs and has only just managed get the game to run again on his machine? I used to be able to beat the game at deity - the AI was always very bad - but has only just begun to get back into navigating his way around the interface. I cannot play online as I just don't have the time but I loved multiplayer. 1v1 on a tiny world was never my idea of fun as you don't get the intrigue and backstabbing so the league, noble idea that it is, isn't really of much interest to me.
3-4, more the better, human players plus a few AI's on a large World? You'd be taking on someone who is now a rank novice but I am sure that it will all come back to me. I can guarentee to play at least 1 turn per day during the working week and more at the weekend. Anyone interested?

If you can confirm you have the official patch 1.2 and unofficial hack 1.21 installed, then I'm ready to set up a game. Either 2 human and 2 AIs or a teamgame (guess we could find 2 players more). With or without babarians (and ruins).

I've got the patch but not the hack installed. That's easy to sort out though. Would prefer 4 human but 2/2 is fine. Never played a team game and I doubt I'd be high on anyone's wish list with it being so long since I played.

BTW Birdman, I took a look into the archives and I have played you quite a bit! Right back to 2000 we got our asses kicked as allies! It was like reading a history book of ancient wars with all the Reuters news flashes and State Press Releases proclaiming that the triumph of the proletariat would sweep away all the fascist, Imperialist, Capitalist pigdogs oppressing the masses! Great fun games with some great fun characters taking the role play to it's limit.
