The CTP2 source code project is trying right now to make CTP2 the game we all hoped and hope for. Playtesters are welcome (but will probably need a copy of CTP2).

Neil, I still play CTP1 for one simple reason - Space. I could have been sold on CTP2 (well, I was actually. I bought the game) any day of the week, but removing space for me was a knife through the proverbial heart. Yeah I know space view has its problems. It takes too long to develop (though with CD'S mod, its much better) it has serious glitches in movement, and its not worthwhile playing it unless you adjust your graphics for maximum unit movement.

But all that is worth the precious ability to own Star Cruisers and Space Bombers, and to decimate the AIs down below who will never discover how to build a Leviathan. And once the humiliating unseen bombardment from orbit is complete, you just land your SWARM orbital paratroopers inside a city. Oh, the Joy!
